Hotel management and Chef Christophe were very understanding and accommodating to my gluten- and dairy-free needs. Their thoughtfulness and effort made for a wonderful experience!

We contacted them beforehand about arranging a multi-course meal at their in-house Italian restaurant (Milan); at that meal, the restaurant staff serving our meal were always cognisant of which dishes were the GF and DF ones, with willingness to explain or answer questions.

Breakfast at the Cafe Du Lac restaurant was terrific, as well, with some marker plaques on dishes but particularly with Chef Christophe willing to walk around the buffet and answer questions and even to make me a plate of something according to my needs. The restaurant even had “Vietnamese Celiac (explainer) cards” near the front of the entrance (on the bread and pastry table), near where the GF bread was. The GF bread wasn’t DF and wasn’t the moistest, but was still good; PB and spreads were already set out in individual dollops on small dishes on the bar (which they didn’t used to do, but I assume now they do to avoid cross-contamination in a big jar that everyone uses). I asked a server for a separate pair of tongs for the GF bread, and he obliged when I explained that the ones on adjacent plates had touched glutenful breads already.

Soy milk was also available on request. 👍👍
