2nd time here and good both times. We found International Cuisine almost by accident. We were trying to get into another restaurant with better reviews. They were busy, so we decided to try IC. On our first trip, i had the kabobs and they were great. No reaction, either. Today, I tried the Parmesan salmon. The salmon was done perfectly. I think this place is being hurt by one bad review. I’ve now been here twice, have had no reaction, and am a highly sensitive celiac.
We called ahead and talked to William. William assured us they had a great selection of gluten free options and they were prepared safely. When we got there we talked to William who discussed our options and assured us it would be safe. My seven year old daughter is the Celiac and she ordered a gluten free cheese pizza. William assured us everything would be great. Our food came, it was great, we thanked William. William was nowhere to be found at 11:00 when the seven year old started vomiting.
I ordered the fish tacos and they were amazing! The clam chowder is also good. The service was great!
The clam chowder and salmon were delicious, but I had a minor reaction afterward. I'm an EXTREMELY sensitive celiac, so even the smallest cross contamination will get me, which is exactly what felt like happened. If it were a gluten ingredient the reaction would have been much more severe.
So wonderful to find a restaurant this caring and safe, they took my celiac so seriously. Chef came out and made my plate to order, making sure to tell me what I could have, could not have, and what was made out of house so he couldn't be sure it was 100% safe. Ate here twice on vacation and I haven't ever eaten anywhere this wonderful, I didn't get sick AT ALL. Would recommend for anyone who is celiac, or just avoiding gluten. Wonderful clam chowder, pizza, anything!
the waiter William was amazing can you alot about gluten sensitivity and what items didn't did not and anything that he was not sure of, he made sure to go back into the kitchen and double check
The menu only has a few items marked as gluten free. But when asked the waiter informed me that they have gluten free pasta that could be substituted on regular menu items. My aunt had the clam chowder that is marked as gluten free and said it was great. We had a number of wait staff working at our table and noticed that some seemed better educated about gluten free options than others.
we've been here a few times. I like the menu, some great seafood dishes. The staff is very friendly and attentive. However, we don't have a ton of confidence in some servers knowledge of gluten free. One night we just had to leave without ordering. I hope to give them another chance.
Lively place. Great food. The waiter made several trips to the chef to discuss gluten choices and I loved it and woke up feeling fine. They were booked for dinner reservations so we cancelled our reservation and decided to go early for a late lunch early dinner.
The Clam Chowder is indeed GF and oh is it good! The staff is very knowledgeable about gluten. I came back the next day and wanted to order the Cioppino and was informed that the clam broth was not GF. The manager knew this and did not even have to make a trip to the kitchen. The Clam Chowder is made with .. wait for it...clams! Love this place! Right in downtown PG as the locals call it. Give it a try.
Being gluten free, I haven't had clam chowder in a restaurant in years. When they said the clam chowder was gluten free I almost jumped out of my seat. It was incredible! Not too fishy, not too thick, maybe a touch heavy on the potatoes.
Greek fries were not as crisp as I would have liked, but overall good and not too stingy on the feta. My husband had the gyro plate and really liked it. The serving size was generous but not so big it was wasteful. The server made sure to let us know that the gyros were not gluten free.
Great service. Our server was attentive and helpful. Our entertainment coupon was graciously accepted.
If you are looking for gluten free pizza they have it, but I am guessing it is frozen as he said they make their regular dough in house. Made me feel a lot safer to eat there knowing that they understood cross contamination.
We had the panna cotta for dessert and it was one of the better ones I have had.
Great value for the food quality and location. If you are biking from lovers point the hill is steep, but the food and service is worth it.
