ippin ramen & sushi

Always get the ramen with gluten free noodles. Im very sensitive to gluten but their soups have never upset my stomach. Most of the sushi is safe to eat and they also have gluten free soy sauce.

I asked the waitress of there was a gluten free menu. She said there wasn't but they had gluten free options. I asked what those were and she said she didn't know, but she knew they had low sodium soy sauce. I knew right then it would be an iffy experience.

She went back to ask the kitchen, came back, said they had gluten free soy sauce and everything else on the menu was gluten free. I said "except the tempura stuff I assume?" and she said "Oh yeah. That's definitely not. But everything else is." I knew at this point they didn't even know what gluten was. I asked if they had real crab or imitation (which I knew most imitation had gluten) and she said they didn't have any real crab in the restaurant.

I just ordered a couple of Philly rolls. We got our food and I asked for the tamari or whatever the gluten free soy sauce was. I saw her ask the manager and she seemed dumbfounded...didnt know what that was. The waitress brought me a dish of liquid from the back but I definitely didn't think it was gf at this point so I didn't eat it.

I'm just sensative and get hives...not celiac. I definitely do NOT recommend this place if you have any serious reactions. They 100% don't know anything about it, not even management.
