What an amazing spot! I travel frequently for work and was thrilled to find this gem on Uber Eats when I didn’t want to leave my hotel. They allowed me to select “gluten free” for the waffles and the resulting waffle sandwich was 10/10. Would highly recommend!

It was so good we ate here twice on a three day trip. Everything except the max and cheese is available gluten free. Staff was knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable. Dedicated waffle makers for the GF waffles and only GF things in the fryer, including FRIED CHICKEN! Highly recommend the fried chicken with grits option - absolutely delicious. We also tried a couple of egg options but the fried chicken was our favorite. Specify you need GF when ordering and you will be fine - sister and I are both celiac and had zero reaction. Enjoy!

This place is amazing! I ordered online and was able to select a "gluten-free Celiac" waffle. I made my own paffle with sausage, egg, and cheese and it was delicious. Waffle was so soft and fluffy! I am Celiac and had no reaction.

Wonderful find. We both had fried chicken paffle with various toppings. The crunchy chicken was fresh and perfect. Loved loved loved their food. Ordered from their kiosk and things were a little messed up but it didn’t matter.

Amazing Paffles/waffle sandwich. I got the egg, sausage, bacon, spicy mayo and cheese. So good and dedicated waffle iron. Everything is gf except the gluten waffle option and anything with Mac and Cheese. You can also get fried chicken sandwich but I didn’t think I could stomach that for breakfast. Coffee tasted good too!

Loved the food at Paffles! I ordered The Machine which is steak, egg, cheese, and grilled onions with a special sauce on a GF waffle that was soft and dense. Loved it! All ordering on site is through a kiosk with card or digital payment only. After ordering, we grabbed our drinks from the fridge and had a short wait for our food. Great food!

Can’t say enough about this gem! The menu inside isn’t updated, but they now have Gf fried chicken in addition to a full menu of gf options. I tried the Gf fried chicken #3 and the choriz today. It was so good I was worried I would get sick, but they took great care with the order, and I’m still feeling great! Highly recommend this to anyone in Charlottesville!

This was my first visit, and I am beyond impressed! The young lady who owns and runs the business was Very knowledgeable about proper procedures to avoid CC. She even had a "Only GF" griddle to make the waffles on.

I searched on here to find a place where I could eat, in the area I was, I read all the reviews and picked this place for our breakfast this morning and did not disappoint. I had the GF Rise’n’Iron (blueberries and whipped cream) my husband had the regular Iron Glory (eggs, bacon and cheese). Delicious

Had 3 different Paffles to sample. 1) The Cannoli: OMG! This was the first cannoli type food I’ve had in 7 years. I added Nutella which made this a gooey, sweet mess I was happy to scarf down. The paffles are super light and fluffy inside with a slight crunch on the outer crust. Heaven! 2) The PB&J made with almond whip and seasonal maple pumpkin preserves. While not my go to type of sandwich, this was delicious. 3) The Iron Glory: this is usually made with siracha mayo. My dad (who ordered the sandwich) can’t do heat, so it was plain Mayo did him. This was a mind blower! The eggs were super fluffy, about a half an inch thick and fit the paffle exactly. Add to that a perfect amount of cheese and bacon that was not fatty nor undercooked. It was crispy, lean and piled high. It tasted as good as it looked. It’s a good thing these little beauties (that’ll fill you up or make 2 meals) come in a special holder and are wrapped to contain all the ingredients. I live about 2 hours from Charlottesville and do have to travel there several times this fall. Luckily, Iron Paffles and More is not far from UVA Medical Center. I’ve planned my next few orders already. All of our order was gluten free as 2 of us have gluten issues. All the Paffles were baked to perfection. Iron Made takes care to ensure that cross contamination risk is minimal. No after effects for either of us. I’ve already found gf puff pastry to order online so I can imitate these as best as I can after my traveling to C’ville ceases. I would drive the 2 hours just for one of these incredibly yummy treats!

I don’t know if food comes out flagged gf if there are any non-gluten free items ordered. Our entire order was gf.

Even though they have a gf menu, your options are not limited to that menu. The staff will help you with all options, I ordered online and ordered from the “regular” menu. I was given the option to order all items gluten free in the ordering page.

I stopped here on a road trip for a quick bite to eat and it did not disappoint. When I told the worker I was gluten free she immediately told me all precautions that they take to ensure it to be as safe as possible. This definitely made me feel very safe. I got the egg sandwich and it ended up being one of the best things I’ve eaten. The food also came out very quickly and they put my gluten free in a separate bag from the rest of my groups regular food. The size of the sandwich was great and it was loaded. I ended up liking it so much I went up and ordered a cannoli one also. It again came it super quick. It was really great and definitely something different. I would recommend getting the cannoli one for sure. I can’t wait till I’m back in town to get more of these.

This place was amazing. We were heading in the road to West VA and my daughter was looking for somewhere for us to stop to get lunch and found this little gem. My daughter and I got the gluten free savory Paffels and they were both amazing. My daughter even went and got a sweet one. They let us know that they have a separate waffle iron and area to make gluten free. My husband and son got the regular one and they were amazing as well. Definitely worth the stop. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be stopping by again.

We visited Iron Paffles and Coffee on a trip to Charlottesville. It was take-out only due to COVID. The website was easy to navigate and order from online. The staff did a great job of packing and bagging our allergy orders separately from the non-allergy orders and clearly marking them. Menu items can be made with gluten free waffles or vegan gluten free waffles (including items from the kids’ menu). Both were delicious and we all really enjoyed the novelty of our waffle sandwiches!

I was so impressed! When I ordered I mentioned I needed a gluten-free waffle. (All of their menu besides the fried chicken can be made gluten free). One of the employees asked if anyone else on our ride was gluten-free. They have a separate (clearly marked) gluten-free iron and clearly labeled ingredients. My order was served on a separate tray. I noticed everything was cleaned before and after each use. It’s located directly on Main Street, so the parking was in a public parking area. The food was delicious!! Great local coffee, wonderful food! If it wasn’t so far away (I was traveling), I’d be back often. They had a lot of vegan options as well, and combined vegan and gluten-free. We ordered two sandwiches (large sandwiches) and two coffees for under $22 including taxes.

They have a separate iron for gf waffles and know celiac disease and cross contamination. Also the waffles taste great and hold together well, which is not always the case with gf food. I would definitely go back.

SO good! We had the Choriz and blueberry/cream waffle—both delicious. My partner, who is not GF, loves them as well. Dedicated waffle iron and kitchen space—made me feel super safe! The owner is really kind and enthusiastic to be able to offer GF options.

Eat here weekly; dedicated griddle for gf and they “get it” in terms of cross contamination. Haven’t had a bad meal yet, but favorite is the T-balt.
