I was so excited to see that Iron Star had a gluten free menu. I loved eating there prior to be diagnosed. I spoke with my waiter and the manager and both were very knowledgeable and made precautions to keep my food separate and even brought my meal to the table with gloves on. I had the brisket, Brussel sprouts and green beans with deviled egg appetizer. I will definitely be back!

My husband’s severely celiac and this is our go-to place for eating out. They’re vigilant about cross-contamination and he’s never had a problem.

Gluten free menu, gluten free BBQ sauce, and really delicious.
I wanted to highlight this restaurant for doing something no other restaurant has done for me. I was eating with two non-celiac people who ordered a cornbread appetizer for themselves, which is fine, I can sit and watch other people eat delicious looking cornbread and not throw a fuss. At this point I had already notified the server of my allergy and ordered my meal. A woman, that I assume was the manager, came out with the cornbread appetizer also holding a small portion of their deviled egg appetizer, which is the only gluten free appetizer option. She said she didn't want me to be left out while everyone else was already eating cornbread. They did not charge me for this appetizer either. I did not ask for this, but they had enough kindness in the back to notice me and bring me this kind gesture to be included with everyone else. I cannot express how much I appreciate this. Living with a food allergy often leaves you feeling left out, which is hard for others to empathize with. If I could give this 100 stars, just for this kindness, I would. The food was also great, and if I lived in the area I would be happy to come back here, alas we were just passing through. If you value kindness, then please go give this restaurant your business!

As always I want to note that I’m gluten intolerant. I’m from DFW TX area and I was on vacation with my family (2 out 4 gluten intolerant) and found this restaurant online and I was very excited to see on their site that they had gf options. I love bbq and since removing gluten from my diet a year ago have a harder time finding places to eat it due to gluten being is a lot of the sauces. The staff was great and even brought the gluten free meals out separate with our own sauce. Love the food and would definitely recommended!
Phenomenal place!! I am a super sensitive celiac, and I ate the brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, potato salad, and beans. I did not get sick. The gluten free menu seems small, but it helps you figure out what you can order off the regular menu (I got the combo plate). At first one of our combo plates had sides on it that my husband ordered that were not gluten free. They were supposed to come out separately (per request). They apologized and corrected it immediately with a whole new chicken and brisket so as not to get me sick. Love this place! This is my first time in here, and I will gladly come back.
They have gluten free bbq sauce!!! Perhaps it is a recent addition. They have a regular and a gluten free.
We had leftovers and they gave us bags and plastic utensils.

Great food but BBQ sauce is not GF, which kinda' defeats the purpose of going to a BBQ restaurant. Lots of other BBQ restaurants offer GF sauce and can't imagine it would be missed if omitted from Iron Starr's sauce. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Ate here a few weeks back. Ordered off the really small gluten free menu. Waitress was a little shifty when I asked if the kitchen staff was aware of cross contamination. Ordered ribs...got sick.

The staff is very accommodating and the GF options are tasty!

These guys were great! When I mentioned that I had celiac disease my waiter immediately let me know that it wasn't a problem and that they would prepare everything for me in a separate area. This food was unbelievably good!!! They have a new gluten free Saudi that you can order on the side. The manager even came at the end of the dinner to check to make sure I still felt well and that they take pride in taking care of these kinds of needs. It was an awesome experience!

Delicious St. Louis style ribs. The ribs were so good on their own that I didn't miss the BBQ sauce (BBQ sauce isn't gluten free). The staff was knowledgeable of ingredients and were very nice about answering questions.
A very popular, local, award-winning barbecue place, locals will know the name immediately. Visitors may not. Iron Starr specializes in a more modern, upscale experience. They have a dedicated menu. The selections are limited, but very good. Ironically, the BBQ sauce is not gf, but they make this very clear. Our server was knowledgeable, and there were no hassles.
