Island Pizza Restaurant

Worst experience of our vacation. We made a reservation for our large group but when we arrived we were told that they couldn’t accommodate us and split us up into separate tables. Then, we found out that they don’t have vegan cheese and cannot guarantee no cross contamination because ALL of the pizzas are cooked in the same pans, with no washing or precautions taken in between. As if that weren’t bad enough, we then waited 2 and a half hours for food that everyone said was “not that good,” while watching other tables come, get seated, eat, pay and leave all while we were still waiting. Overpriced, bad pizza and NOT at all safe for anyone with a real intolerance / celiac. I would give zero stars if that were possible.

Ordered a gf/df pizza to go. Server was very knowledgeable and went over and beyond to make sure it was safe. My celiac husband had no problems. However, the pizza is not very flavorful, but at least it was safe.

They had a GF pizza option that I ordered. They assured me that they take safety precautions. I did not get sick. Would definitely go back.

I ordered the 10inch gluten free Margherita pizza. It was delicious. I asked the waitress twice if she was sure it was gluten free. I would definitely recommend.

Good that they have a gluten free option and that you can chose the ingredience. Would be even better If larger size were optional!😊

Its hard to complain when a restaurant has a dedicated space for gluten free pizza. I have eaten here several times and I have never gotten sick. The first time I had their pizza, it was great. Other times, it tasted underdone and doughy. For me, it has been a hit or miss on taste but I can say, I've never gotten sick. I really am just thankful that there's a safe place I can go when on Sanibel. Maybe next time, I'll ask them to cook it a little longer.

The gluten free pizza crust was ok. There is only one size - 10 inch. It is the only gluten free pizza around so I was happy to find Island Pizza. The employees were very nice.
