Staff suggested I don’t eat there if it is for a medical reason (Celiac). Based on the reviews, I am assuming this could be an isolated incident and this particular staff member was not well informed on Celiac. Would love to give this place a try in the future but I didn’t want to take any chances based on the staff members concern.
It’s in an old school house and has a neat feel to it. There are other restaurants in it also. I don’t know about their gluten free options. The workers at this restaurant were very knowledgeable about gluten-free. I had an excellent burger. The bun was good but did fall apart a little bit but not horribly. The fries were wonderful! They were like a thin steak fry but not a chip. The seasoning on the fries was just right.
Picked here on a whim. Had a few reviews and figured we'd try it. Located in the old Ivywild school building, Ivywild kitchen is one of many different eateries, pubs, and more. The owner was there. He said his mother is Celiac so he and his staff are very careful with not having any cross contact. Only things on the grill are gluten-free. The regular buns go through a bun toaster. Fries (regular and sweet potato) have a dedicated fryer. Gloves are changed for gluten-free orders. I felt very comfortable with his precautions.
The hamburger was very good and the bun was one of the best I've had. The sweet potato fries were good too. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely go back.
