I ordered from the gluten free menu. I told my server that I have a gluten intolerance, and to please let the kitchen staff know and to ask them to please change gloves. They served me orzo pasta for my side. I’m sure I should have realized it was pasta, but I thought it was wild rice (there were dark pieces, making it look like wild rice, and I have never actually had orzo, before this time).
When I realized what had happened, the sweet young server got the manager. She proceeded to add insult to injury, by stating that “actually, it’s an open kitchen, so nothing is really gluten free. Also, we should have had a manager come over when the you mentioned your intolerance to your server.” Talk about adding insult to injury. She comped the meal, but the comments did not help. I will not be back, and I’ve lost faith in “nice restaurants” being educated and safer.
