First of all, their menu denotes what's GF and what can be made GF. I ordered the voodoo nachos, and the jambalaya/honey siracha chicken combo bowl. The rice from the jambalaya tames down the spice from the chicken if you're not a fan of lots of spice. Amazing flavors! The voodoo nachos were yummy, but I didn't eat their chips because they weren't guaranteed GF. I had some tortilla chips at home (did I mention I did delivery lol) and used them instead. Delicious! And the meals were enough for 2 people or 2 meals for most people! I didn't get sick and I call that a success in my book! I have added them to my list of places to order from! I can't guarantee the chips if you eat in house, but have some tortilla chips on hand if you do take out or delivery. You won't be disappointed!
Fantastic food and workers. I asked Qs about gluten and cross contamination, and they were knowledgeable. Lots of options— they ended up giving me free samples of everything GF as I sat waiting for my group. I don’t live nearby but may make the drive just for the gumbo!

I have been coming to this Jay Gumbo's for years. I can't say enough positive about this place. The employees are trained in allergies and cross contamination.
But the real reason to come here, is for the sense of community. It's surprising to see in a chain restaurant like this, but this one really does have its own personality. The owner is deeply involved in local events and host all kinds of neat things especially with a focus on children. I once attended a free rock painting class here.
