They offer a gluten free sub bun but be VERY careful if you are sensitive to any sort of cross-contamination. I was watching them make other sandwiches ahead of mine and they just had one single spatula spreading mayo directly onto the bread and they grabbed the toppings by handfuls while wearing the same gloves they handled regular breads with. They were really digging down into the lettuce, tomatoes, etc. and someone had wanted less tomatoes and pickles but they had already been on a sandwich in contact with the bread and Mayo but were taken off and placed back into the containers even with Mayo residue. I would absolutely suggest skipping all of the toppings if you are sensitive to any sort of contamination. I would just do the meat and cheese and then add the oil and vinegar and seasonings and they also offer individual packets of other condiments such as Mayo and mustards. The staff at this location was very nice and automatically changed their gloves before handling my sandwich. The sandwich was delicious, the sub bun was very soft. I thankfully did not have any reactions from eating my sandwich but just be very aware when you’re ordering.
So I was told all Jersey Mike’s should be carrying the UDI’S Gluten free bread now! All the cold cuts seemed to be gluten free, but there is easy access to the allergen list through the company web site. The franchise that I visited today in Folsom CA was wonderful. They changed their gloves and put the sub on a separate piece of paper. Nice change of pace for lunch when looking for a sub/sandwich.
We ordered four sandwiches, one GF. We received three in white paper and one in brown, no other labeling. My Celiac daughter ate several bites of her sandwich in brown wrapping before I realized it was regular bread. I went up to the counter to ask about labeling, and the manager said they don’t label but they would talk to corporate about that??!!
