This is definitely the best sub shop for Gluten Free sandwiches. The food is so fresh and the sub roll is actually good for a gf roll. Server spent 5 mins wiping everything down before serving me. He and the other staff also changed their gloves and used new knives. I wish they had more locations. This is the second time I’ve been to this chain and I will definitely come back again.
Went here for lunch. Before making my GF sandwich, the person told the girl making my sandwich to clean her space and change her gloves. That was great. I had the ham and provolone on a gf bun and didn't have any problems!
Always great. So much better and fresher than other sub chains that refuse to make gluten free at all. Best sub out there. Very careful with food preparation also.
I read the other reviews here and took a chance. It was Saturday night and busy so I was a little nervous. They changed gloves, put paper on the counter before opening the Udi's hero bread, got a clean knife from the back and wiped down the cold cut slicer. I had turkey, provolone, bacon and mayo. It felt so good to be able to have a deli hero again! It's been many hours and I feel great. I have Celiac Disease and have severe reactions to gluten, so I know I'd already be feeling it. Highly recommend Jersey Mike's!!!
They have udi sub rolls. They serve went above and beyond to avoid cross contamination by making my sub with meats and veggies from the back not near any bread. Very impressed with the knowledge of the staff.
This restaurant is in Mohegan and started offering gf bread for subs. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was good. The bread was clearly Udis brand because it has the same texture as their sliced bread. It falls apart really easy. Maybe toasting it would help? But at least they have gf options!
I have celiac disease and can no have gluten at all, this location went above and beyond to make sure they make my order safe for me which meant changing their gloves making my food on a separate surface using a new knife to cut my sandwich with. They did everything correctly and it just made me feel normal, I don't eat out because of my long list of requirements. I just felt normal and that means a lot to me. Huge thanks to Jersey Mike's for carrying gluten free bread and for staffing such amazing and helpful people. Also for anyone wondering they have gluten-free sugar cookies and yes they are absolutely delicious. Love love love!!!! Will definitely be back! ****update. Bread was gross
They wipe down the station and change gloves. They keep the bread wrapped until used. I appreciate all of the above and how patient most of them are in this store. My only suggestion would be to get fresh unused ingredients for celiacs and to use a fresh towel and fresh soap and water each time they wipe the station otherwise it’s contaminated with crumbs.
Amazing! The staff was very knowledgeable about cross-contamination. The GF sub roll is an Udi’s product, and individually wrapped and sealed until they are preparing. They placed it on parchment paper and was careful that nothing else in the prep area came into contact. And it was delicious!
I was thrilled to find I could still get to enjoy a hand-crafted sandwich made on a GLUTEN FREE "sandwich roll" that didn't compromise taste or texture, thanks to them offering Udi's sub rolls here! I have been here a total of 3 times for GF sandwiches over the past 4 months & each time the staff has been very careful & conscientious. They put on fresh gloves & prepare my sandwich in an appropriate separate area that has been cleaned & they use tools that are separate from everything else.
We were on our way back home from a road trip and looked up GF places to eat, came across Jersey Mike’s in Williamsport, Pa. so glad we stopped, they have the best GF subs I’ve ever tasted, the bread was actually crusty and didn’t fall apart as I was eating it, it was made away from the other subs, I had the roast beef and provolone, meat was delicious, the service was great, we were greeted by Zack and James, very friendly, helpful, and understood my gluten issues, James made my sub, Zack did my husbands regular sub. Since there aren’t any in my area I just might make the two plus hour drive back because it was so good, I honestly never thought I’d taste a good sub again since going gluten free, my husband loved his as well, he said he’d be more than happy to drive all that way again. Say hi to Zack and James if you go they were great. Oh and the bathrooms were very clean.
The staff here were very nice and proceeded to clean the machine, build my sub on a different counter, and do a glove change. With jersey mikes being set up as a gluten free restaurant, overall i’d definitely say it’s one of my favorite reliable fast food restaurant to be at
I asked if all their meats were GF, the employee verified with another that they were. She asked if I had an allergy or just a preference. She wiped down the counter and meat cutter. Udi's sub bread available, but dry as usual for Udi's. #4 was delicious sandwich, they have packets of condiments.
I was excited that they now have GF buns, and I spoke with the manager about cross contamination, etc. I left feeling good, but then ate the sub and was immediately very sick. The bread comes pre-packaged, so my guess is they aren’t very good with cross-contamination on board surfaces, condiment utensils, etc.
The staff was very knowledgeable and asked if I wanted him to change his gloves and use a special designated gluten free tray/knife for my sandwich. Excellent service and sandwich with an udi’s bun! He even went out of his way to grab the lettuce that hadn’t been touched. They also offer gluten free Udi’s cookies.
Don’t love the GF bread but the employees clearly take it seriously. I told them cross contamination isn’t an issue for me (GF for AI and not celiacs) so no need to wipe down slicer, but he said it was not a problem. Changed gloves, paper down and separate knife. All employees down the line made aware it was GF and same employee handled sandwich all the way down to wrapping. Store was very busy with a line but was not made to feel it was an inconvenience at all.
I asked for gluten free bread and the young man immediately changed his gloves and went to building my sandwich at a separate space and even used a different slicer than the one up front. He took great care to keep cross contamination from happening.
GF sub rolls! And very happy to change gloves and use a clean surface to make the sandwich.
I don't know about this one but the one in Orange Park on blanding is celiac friendly. You have to tell them you have celiac. They will change there gloves and get different utensils, you can also watch them if you want. I have eaten there several times and never have gotten sick, they also have gluten free snickerdoodle cookies which are really good.
Took my allergy seriously and made my sandwich on a clean surface with new gloves. I am happy to report that I didn’t get sick.
They were careful about cross contamination when making our gluten free sub by a glove and prep space change but didn’t clean slicer or open a new meat or cheese. And then another server wrapped the sandwich at the end without a glove change. My celiac son ended up getting sick. They do sell pre-packed Udis gluten free cookies though.
I eat here often as it is very convenient for me. I enjoy the Udi’s hoagie rolls and that they (usually) wipe everything down. However, the last time I was in, the one person behind the counter was not very friendly and was as thorough with wiping down everything as they had previously been. The lady was very rude and was yelling at the other workers. Other than her, I recommend eating here as long as you make sure they wipe everything down if you are sensitive. I have however never gotten glutened.
The food and service are exceptional, love that i can order a ‘real’ sub or get a sub in a tub.
Not sure about this particular location. No one changed gloves and when my husband alerted the “toppings” girl that she had just grabbed regular bread while putting toppings in his GF sandwich, she didn’t understand what he was saying. Another server came over and told her to change her gloves, but the sandwich was already cross-contaminated. We had to request that they do it over. As we were paying, I watched as she went over to the other server to ask what happened. He shrugged, told her not to worry about it and smirked our way. The cashier apologized and was very friendly. Thinking this particular location needs training. We won’t be back to this one.
