Jersey Mike's Subs

It never occurred to me that I would be able to try a sub sandwich from a chain but I watched & listened at this new O’side Old Grove location. Very clean but also new location. Overall very responsive management and staff to the gluten free request. Only 1 size medium & type of roll, and everything was made in a separate area on separate counter, changed gloves,parchment/wrapper & staff member would get the person “in the know” to make my sandwich, if they were not. Indications of good staff training. Did also not act like it was an imposition, even at the one time I went at peak lunch hour. I’m not ultra keen on most GF breads/rolls but that is not a fault of the chain. Overall nice to know I can get a sub at a chain but I am not gi symptomatic, so heed the chain warnings about possible cross contamination.

My daughter & I ate at this location tonight & our server was wonderful! They had the Udi’s bread, but it only comes in the regular sub size. She went out of her way to change her gloves, clean everything & use fresh utensils without even asking. It was a great experience for us trying to find a quick meal.

Cleanest Jersey Mike's I have ever been in. Delicious UDIS bun. Without asking changed gloves, prepped a big piece of parchment paper to prepare on, got mayo and toppings from the back. Said one of the managers is celiac as well.

Celiac friendly?

Yes

I don't crave subs very often but if you do then this is a decent option. They do have gf sub buns and do change gloves. I wish they had gf cookies but alas that's life lol.

Update: I got a sub again today and they now do have Udi's gf snickerdoodles. They're soft and very good too!

The staff was awesome and did a great job avoiding any chance of contamination. They prepared my cold sandwich in a separate area that was covered with fresh deli paper and used fresh gloves. Glad to have this as an option in the future!

Excellent experience! Cleaned all surfaces before they began, got fresh papers, clean utensils, fresh ingredients untouched in a back cooler, mayo squeeze bottle…. Just a very wonderful and safe experience. Will be back!!!

I absolutely love this place! I’ve seen them prepare the food myself, and they take all the proper precautions, including separate prep areas and changing gloves. I get the gluten free bread sub as well as the bowl. I’ve never had an issue, but I do not have Celiac’s, so I can’t speak for that. They also have Udi’s cookies if you want a meal.

Went to Jersey Mike’s today and it was great! They were really nice and when I told the worker that I wanted gluten free bread she asked if it was an allergy or preference! They made the sub in a separate place and even had instructions on the wall for handling the gluten free sandwiches! They also gluten free cookies! Definitely will be going here again!
