Excellent bread! Looks like a real sub roll. Careful attention to preparation. They called out "gluten free! Change gloves!" The bread was placed on a paper lined tray and prepared on the tray, using new utensils, and gloves were changed at each station. Delicious. Will definitely visit again.
Super knowledgeable. A worker's daughter there has celiac so they really do take every precautionary about every step! Super safe and sandwich was good! Definitely will go back!
Udi's gf rolls! Imagine having a sub again
Went on July 2 and was told they are too busy to make GF sandwiches.
They have gluten-free subs! And they understand how important it is not to cross-contaminate. It was fabulous!
Very sensitive to gluten allergy. My wife felt she was eating a regular sub it was that good. Very clean and have separate prep area.
Separate cutting board, roll was sealed, they are all over the cross contamination issue! Wonderful!
They use Udi's prepackaged sub rolls (full size!) and take the proper steps to ensure no cross contamination. On top of that, the staff had a very positive attitude despite having to go out of their way while it was busy. I'm happy to see Jersey Mike's didn't just throw GF buns on the menu, but actually trained and educated their employees.
Changed gloves, wiped counters, new (clean) spatula 😊👍🏼
I've eaten there 2 or 3 times since they started carrying gluten free sub rolls. The gf bread is really good. When you order gluten free, they clean the counter and slicer, wash hands and changes gloves, set up a clean treat with pallet over it to make your sandwich on, use a clean knife and squirt bottle topping just for gf orders.
Came with my 2 young boys who are both celiac. The guy at the counter was very helpful and happy. He cleaned the slicer and wiped down the counter. The gf roll was cut on its own counter. Everything was separate. The toppings were all kept in separate containers for gf. The boys loved their subs! Will certainly return!!!
The staff is very well trained with regard to Celiacs and cross contamination. The buns were individually wrapped. This is no Subway where it's a salad sandwich with 2 pieces of meat, the sandwiches were for real and stuffed. The only con was the price. The 12 inch sandwich was $13+, the 6 inch was $8+
The staff was very educate on gluten. The rolls are wrapped individually. They made sure the slicer was cleaned before they slice your meat. They made sure the work area for the sandwich was cleaned. All the sandwich selections are gluten free except for 2.
Staff was great. They changed their gloves, used a separate knife to cut the bread, and kept everything completely separate. I watched the whole process and felt completely safe eating here. Very excited they accommodate gluten free and take it seriously.
Staff is very knowledgeable. There is a separate area for gf food prep. They thoroughly clean all surfaces, change gloves and utensils and use packaged condiments in order to avoid cross contamination. They are also very friendly and accommodating, which is a plus in my book.
I got super sick here!!’stay away
They wiped down the counter, changed gloves, washed hands, used a piece of sub paper to make the sub on, and got out a clean knife to cut the sub with. The process seemed to take them an extra few minutes and thankfully they weren’t busy. They said the sub bread is made by Udi’s. Tasted like the Udi’s soft white bread that’s sold at most grocery stores. The sub was great and they were very friendly and happy to go through their GF process.
The whole family enjoyed eating subs! I have not considered eating a sub past 1.5 years and decided to give this a try. Staff knew, without asking, to change gloves and lay paper wrapper over cutting board that other breads had touched while preparing my sandwich. Otherwise I would be eating out of a bowl again. I will be coming back when craving a sub.
Generous sandwich using Udi baguette. Peeped the sandwich on paper to avoid cross contamination. Servers changed gloves, but used the same condiment bins. FOR SURE: if you want mayo, make sure they use a new container as the mayo on the line is very contaminated. Wish the bread had been microwaved as it was very dry.
They asked if I’d like them to clean the meat slicer and took the time to thoroughly clean it and the surfaces. They seemed well trained and happy to accommodate. They use Udi’s sub bread and have a separate GF Mayo. It was the first sub I had in 6years since being gluten free and it tasted good! It’s nice to have a fast easy option. I’ll be back!
I asked if they took precautions against cross contamination & they said they do. I ordered a gluten free sandwich & she put the gf bread under the edge of the slicer & the slicer has gluten bread crumbs all over it, by gravity they will fall on my gf bread. Then she started slicing the meat without ever cleaning the slicer first (other locations I’ve been to clean the slicer thoroughly before anything else). At that point I left & ate elsewhere. I contacted corporate via online contact form & never even received a response. Very unsafe & poor customer service.
The staff was top notch in understanding gluten needs. Changed gloves, wiped down work space and even put my sandwich on extra parchment paper to ensure safe handling. Very pleasant and helpful!! We are Jersey folks and we know our subs! This was Jersey worthy!!
These people are incompetent at best. I told the lady with brown hair 4 times I was allergic to dairy and had celiac disease, and that I wanted condiments from the back. They wouldn’t get a new cutting board, they wouldn’t get a new knife. I asked for new unopened condiments and the lady just couldn’t understand. They wouldn’t clean the deli slicer, they wouldn’t clean the grill. I kid you not I said my order at least 8 times-2 gluten free subs with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, turkey. Pretty easy right. Nope, not for these folks. Then the lady had the audacity to blame the poor kid who she didn’t tell him anything so he just started slicing cheese and putting it on the ONLY thawed bread they had in the store. Then they thought thy could just pick it up and reuse the bread. They were clearly not wanting to help us so they just skipped us in line and went on to helping other people who didn’t have disabilities. Jersey Mikes is not a fan of the celiac community.
