Gluten Free Salads
I ordered a couple of times face to face and saw them change their gloves and wipe down everything. The staff were obviously well trained. I now order from their app and note “Gluten Allergy” and I’ve yet to have any issues. I find the UDIs bread good but not the best I’ve ever had. The prices are reasonable for what you get.
I've been to this location several times and every time I go in I see the same consistency with how they handle a gluten allergy. It starts off from the beginning asking if it's an allergy or preference. (I have an allergy) From there, anyone that comes in contact with the gf bread, changes their gloves. They either wipe down the counter or put paper down to avoid the bread from touching the counter. I requested mayo on my sandwich, so the guy go the squirt bottle instead of using the knife. I do eat at a variety of restaurants and I will say this is one of the very few fast food restaurants that I can trust to not cross contaminate.
The Gluten free sub roll (from Udi's and sold only to commercial sites) that they use is awesome! They take care of me every time I go in and they understand gluten free at both of my local stores. They change gloves etc. to help avoid any cross contamination. It is truly nice to be able to enjoy a sub sandwich again.
I ate here and did not get sick! The staff were knowledgeable and changed gloves/put parchment down. If you’re really sensitive, try asking for new condiments/toppings to avoid CC. The sandwich was really good but the Udi’s subs are always a little dry.
The guy making my sandwich started making a wrap part way through on the grill, I had the girl at the check out make sure he changed his gloves again since he was about to finish my sandwich, he did it but definitely had a scowl on his face. It seemed like the other staff was knowledgeable but I would just make sure when you go to double check and watch. The lehi location seemed a lot better about being safe with gluten free. On the grill they use same utensils and area for the gluten bread just FYI.
This was the first sub place that I have found that has gf bread, it was Udi’s bread, I wish they would’ve cooked the bread because it tasted like it was in a freezer and thawed out in a microwave. I was happy that they took my “allergy” seriously, changed their gloves and used separate ingredients that weren’t cross contaminated.
They use Udi Fench bread and prepare the sandwiches away from the normal work area after changing gloves. I prefer the hot subs, the 17 is a Philly cheese grilled with peppers and onions along with cheese. The hot sub is better than cold because the bread softens with the ingredients on it. I have eaten at this and two other shops without incident and really enjoy being able to have a good sub sandwich again.
I have Celiac. The two times I have visited this location the employees have been knowledgeable about gluten free and followed protocols such as changing gloves and preparing food at a dedicated area to limit the chance of cross contamination. One employee even asked if I was gluten sensitive or had Celiac. The food is just OK, but I didn't have any reactions after eating there. They also apply the same coupons as for their regular sandwiches but with an upcharge for the GF bread.
Went here two days ago and they were very knowledgeable. He even wiped down the meat slicer while he cleaned the line to make sure that my GF sub could be made safely. It made me feel very comfortable eating there since they took so many precautions. All of the meats and cheeses that I asked about were GF, so the sky is the limit on which sub you want!
Do not go here if you have a gluten free allergy!! My husband and I both have celiac we went here and they at first were very conscious of cleaning the slicer and changing gloves but then they didn't clean the counter down They use tho prep the sandwich, used the same knife to cut the gf bread that they did the non gf bread and used the same spreaders and same condiment containers! Cross contamination all over! They are just on the band wagon.
They got it! What a pleasure to be able to drop into a sandwich shop again on a moment's notice. Watched the counterman change gloves, wash knife and counter in prep, then lay down a clean wrapper before proceeding. Nothing else touched the bread except the fillings. The dressings & seasonings were poured from containers, not dipped into. Only 2 things could have raised the ratings - Udi's is not my favorite so I would love for the chain to develop their own, better sub roll. Mayo was in a tub with a knife, so I passed for fear of contamination.
Staff are knowledgeable and accommodating. They clean down all the work stations and change gloves. They use special utensils to cut the bread. They have special mayonnaise that has not been contaminated with a knife from non gluten free sandwiches. Bread is slightly dry but it is still a good sandwich.
I would give it 0 if I could. I had just called and asked and was informed that the only thing gluten free was their bun. I was informed that none of their meats or cheeses were gluten free! Why have a gluten free bun. If you dont have anything gluten free to go in it? Why have a gluten free bun if you dont train your employees to understand what is gluten free or not. Or trained to get a manager?
Just be sure to mention it’s for Celiac sufferer so they change their gloves. I haven’t gotten sick here but I’m always careful to watch them prepare and make sure they don’t use same surface as other bread ( they use a paper wrap on top of counter surface).
After learning about the Jersey Mike’s chain adopting recommendations from GIG, we decided to give this a try. They cleaned the equipment off, changed gloves, cutting board, knife, etc. My celiac son loved the sub! So nice to know we can go into a sub shop together again!
They were doing good with the gluten free sandwich, until they got to the lettuce & tomatoes, where they used the same ones they use with gluten bread. That’s a big cross contamination risk as they are touching gluten bread & the lettuce & tomatoes repeatedly.
Fabulous service! They have s separate area for gluten free subs. They immediately change gloves, and assign someone to prepare the gluten free sub. Separate slicer, and separate toppings! And they do it happily. I feel very comfortable with my two Celiac girls eating here.
They were able to provide a gluten free sub, with me watching them like a hawk. The employee was not thrilled with the fact that he had to take extra steps. He actually rolled his eyes at me and sighed several times. It's ok if you watch them...but you can get way better service from the Polaris location.
Awful...cross contaminated the deli meat and the deli meat slicer. When i told them not to make my sub they got mad and told me they were very careful...except they cleaned the bread crumbs then used the same rag to clean the deli slicer. Didn't change gloves before geting meat out of coooler, SOO not that careful. I use them all over GA and So FL and they are awesome hut is one, you need to pass ot by!
The staff is very knowledgeable about gluten allergies. They have a separate prep area for GF. The Udi’s GF bread is awesome. It comes in a sealed plastic wrap to ensure no cross contamination. They treated me like any other customer. Having to order GF was no big deal to them.
