i ordered online, stated i had celiac disease in the comment and asked them to change gloves, use new utensils, and to prepare it on parchment paper which is their standard gf protocol. i wasn’t there to watch them prep it and didn’t speak to them, so it’s probably my fault. the bread was definitely gluten free bc it just had that gf feeling we all know and tolerate, but i definitely got cross contaminated. i’ve been so ill that it actually prompted me to look up my symptoms and i learned i may have gluten ataxia (LOOK IT UP YOU MIGHT HAVE IT TOO). so i guess that’s a win that i know that now, but don’t eat here if you have celiac.

Terrible customer service. Did not follow their cleaning procedure and when I asked him to clean the counter/equipment, he used the same rag and half heartedly threw it at it. Rude!!! I refused to finish my order and we left. DO NOT RISK IT!!!

Great experience. Changed gloves, washed down entire work area and used new utensils. Great experience I would rate this higher if I could. Workers deserve a huge shout out

I haven’t had any issues at the Opelika Jersey Mike’s. The girls always change gloves and prep my sandwich in an area separate from the normal sandwich assembly line. (I do not have celiac disease. I am gluten intolerant. ) The GF bread is good and it doesn’t fall apart like most GF breads from restaurants. This place quickly became my favorite sandwich shop.

We ate there today, and not only was the subs amazing, these ladies made us feel welcomed. They cleaned equipment/sub prep station, changed gloves, all without making us feel like we were an inconvenience. I hope all locations are as dedicated to being celiac friendly as this one. We will definitely try the one close to us in Georgia.
Yes
Very good GF subs. When I ordered my food, they cleaned the counter, cleaned the machine that cut the meat and cheese, they changed there gloves. I was very empresses.

The staff seemed very knowledgeable. Cleaned area and changed gloves. I was impressed. First sub I’ve had in a long time. Definitely eat here with no worries.

Staff said they were trained to make subs for people with celiac!! Was unsure about jersey mikes having so much bread around, but they really cleaned the equipment well for me. First sub I’ve had in a long time!!
Yes
They don’t offer a kid’s gluten free sandwich so I had to buy my daughter an adult sandwich. However she loved the bread. She had the tuna. The staff were knowledgeable and took proper precautions.

This location (on University) does not follow the gluten-free protocol! I go to Jersey Mikes often as a safe option while traveling. Today, I ordered a GF sub (specifying for an allergy) and the manager instructed the employee to make it on the regular slicer so they wouldn’t have to clean the gluten free one again. I asked if he could please use the GF slicer, and he did… without changing his gloves. Then, he carried it over to the regular line and used the non-GF knife and veggies. I asked if he could please use the separate GF area that was all set up and he said “this was how they always do the GF orders.” The manager and other employees saw this and did not say anything. I did not eat my sub.

Called ahead to verify that they have gluten free bread, which they do. Awesome! When I got there the place was super busy, and I almost left out of fear that I would slow the process down even more. Decided to stay and give it a chance. The person at the meat slicer wiped down the area and slicer when I told him I needed everything gluten free. He was amazing about it. I had to ask them to grab fresh ingredients from the back though, because the person adding the toppings just wanted to use what was up front. They weren’t thrilled with getting stuff from the back, but they did do it. Overall it was a decent experience.

Great celiac-safe protocols. When I mentioned “gluten free” the staff immediately changed their gloves, used a separate knife, and put paper down to avoid contact with the cutting board. They also have Udi’s snickerdoodle cookies!

They have GF sub sandwich rolls! Possible cross contamination but they were careful in preparation. My sandwich was the best Ive had in such a long time! It’s so nice to be able to have a ’normal’ meal along with the rest of my family! They also have an option to make your sandwich a meal with a drink and chips or even an individually packaged GF udis cookie!
