This was my first time at Jersey Mike’s and I was skeptical given how much gluten is in this place, but I have always seen great reviews of how Jersey Mike’s handles gluten free, so I went in and they didn’t disappoint and now I am a Jersey Mike’s customer for life. When I asked the first person I saw some of my gluten free questions, it was clear that he was trained right. He told me that they use Udi’s bread, which is individually wrapped and kept separate, they change their gloves, they use a separate knife and they put the bread on a new clean piece of paper. They did tell me that they use the same slicer as for non gluten free sandwiches, but that bread never touches the slicer and they could clean it. Another person - presumably the manager - heard our conversation and told me that for most Jersey Mike’s, if you call ahead, they can use a separate slicer and that some people order early in the morning before any slicer is used. He also gave me a free Udi’s GF cookie. Needless to say, I was impressed.
