I contacted the restaurant ahead of time to let them know I have a severe life-threatening wheat allergy that results in my breathing stopping, going into cardiovascular collapse, and seizures. But the server made several jokes about my allergy and asked how I feel not being able to walk into a bakery or eat a croissant. When he brought bread to the table, he placed it in front of me and asked if I wanted any. When I was ordering and asking if they have a separate fryer, he replied, “oh you care about that?” It was really awkward and no one was laughing at his jokes. I didn’t feel safe eating here.
