Was told one kitchen staff member handles all gf orders. The place was empty when we arrived and full when we left. Very popular spot. Ordered haddock with dill sauce and clam chowder(recommend both). The chowder was thick and delicious…like clam gravy. YUM!

They have a dedicated gluten free menu on their website. I ordered the catfish and it was decent. However, I wish they had a GF fish taco option.

Since cross-contamination isn't an issue for me, I tried their fries and did not get sick. But these are not labelled as GF so obviously try at your own risk.

Got the Whitefish. Very good. Staff were very good with checking what was and wasn’t dairy free. Originally the Whitefish wasn’t dairy free but they were able to make it dairy free for me. The rest of my party enjoyed the food they got aswell.

Really enjoy eating a meal at Joeys. They have a separate grill for gf cooking. They have a wonderful gf menu with lots of delicious options. My son-in-law has a shellfish allergy and he has not reacted. Service can be a little show when they are busy, but the servers are very attentive.

The owner here is gluten free and takes it very seriously. The staff is educated. What more can you ask? I wish there were more places like this. And the food….outstanding!

Numerous gf items on a separate menu. Owner must also eat gf and I was told the kitchen and servers are trained to be careful. My meal of trout was good but I was happiest to have gf clam chowder.

Joey’s has the best gluten-free menu that I have ever seen anywhere! The owner is a celiac and has provided a separate menu of numerous gf options. The employees are all very knowledgeable about celiac disease. I ordered clam chowder and Lake Superior whitefish, which were delicious. My plate arrived from the kitchen with a wooden stick marked “GF”. Wish I lived nearby!

I called asking about a gluten free menu and they responded with "yes, we do. We've been told we have the best gluten free menu". They had a lot of options! I had jambalaya, shrimp scampi, and a half rack of ribs! (With red beans and rice, honey baked beans, and parsley butter potatoes for sides...a lot of food...I know). Best of all, each dish came out with a little wooden flag denoting it gluten free!

Great GF menu with lots of options. My wife (celiac) is always so happy when she can have can have soup and the clam chowder didn't disappoint her. I was surprised how many really good seafood options there were for what appeared to be a small place. Definitely coming back during our upcoming week in Houghton.
