We visited J/R's for dinner August 21, 2015 based on Find Me GF and the two prior reviews. My 9 yr old and I are Celiac and we prefer to have a GF menu when we go places which J/R's provides. Like most restaurants with GF menus there rarely are any children's meals so we end up paying Adult entree prices. My daughter usually has a steak which, the London Broil on the reg. children's menu was marinated and not a GF option so we had to go with a $26 entree for her, the cheapest steak we could get. Not wanting our total bill to be so high I ordered a bowl of the Crab Soup and a salad and my husband a salad. My older daughter who can eat gluten ordered the children's chicken nuggets. My soup I can say was awful. There were a lot of carrots and had a taste as if the vegetables had not been cleaned prior to adding to the soup. The salad had chunks of grated very wet carrot in it. Possibly they had a deal on carrots and were trying to use them up? My daughters steak came out with Au Jus in a cup on the plate . The Au jus ,as stated on the menu was not GF. I immediately told the waitress who said we could just remove it from the plate it was in a cup however there was juice all over the plate which looked like the au jus had spilled all over it. She took it back and had another steak made but we didn't want to risk our daughter being contaminated, (she usually throws up a couple hours afterwards). We took the steak to go and my husband ate it later. He was not impressed with it, not seasoned well and little taste, certainly not worth $26! On the plus side the barbecue smelled very good and there were a number of people in the restaurant so they must be doing something right however I would not risk eating here if you are Celiac. My non GF daughter said her chicken nuggets were good but tasted and looked exactly like McDonald's. I would bet they probably were! Thought compelled to share my experience since I've been relying on this website lately and my experience differed from the previous reviewers.
