A very nice spot for a safe gluten free meal served by well informed and careful staff. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and a wildly large and delicious piece of chocolate layer cake that was so good it made me worried it's wasn't GF. But fear not, it's made in a separate part of the kitchen. The staff server was knowledgeable about cross contact and they isolate the prep and ingredients. The pad thai was nice, and they have GF shriracha to add spice. I didn't react at all, and I have high Celiac sensitivity.
Thanks for giving us a try and sharing about your experience. We're grateful. We especially appreciate the shout out for our staff. They care a lot about what we do, and we're glad that shows.
3.5 - tons of options to choose from! We got the teriyaki bowl and the southwest chicken salad; the teriyaki sauce is good but be careful - don’t dump the whole thing in like I did😅 it’s really strong. the meals were decent but nothing spectacular - but I did not get sick!
to conclude we got the DELICIOUS GF chocolate cake - all the other reviews are spot on. The day we went they had a mint chocolate frosting, so good and so moist which almost NEVER happens with gluten free desserts.
the staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable, GF and DF options/substitutions marked on the menu.
Decent, huh? We know that not every meal is going to be a life-changing event, so we'll take it. Maybe we can win you over with something different next time. Thanks for giving us a try. We're glad the GF chocolate cake lived up to the hype.
My mom (celiac) went here with friends and loved the pad Thai then the chocolate cake was so good she brought another slice home for me (also celiac) One of the best ( taste/texture) things I’ve had since going GF I swear
Thanks for sharing about your experience! We're glad your mom gave us try and then thought to share us with you!
Food was fine, nothing special. Prices were very expensive. I have both a dairy and gluten allergy and to have GF bread was an additional $3 and for vegan cheese it was another $2.50. $5.50 on an already $17 sandwich is kinda crazy.
Our whole meal was just over $60 and that’s with only 1 person being GF. All we got was 2 sandwiches and a soup and salad combo.
If the food was over the top or was larger portions maybe it would be worth it but this just wasn’t.
There wasn’t a lot of dairy and GF options. And they couldn’t substitute things out. So for the teriyaki stir fry they couldn’t remove the onions.
Also the paper copy menu said smashed avocados but it was actually guacamole. As someone who doesn’t like onions that wasn’t great either.
All in all I won’t be back.
Thank you for giving us a try. It sounds like we aren't the right fit for each other, and that's really ok. It wouldn't make sense for us to try to be everything to everyone. We are well known for our gluten-free/vegan options and the care we take in preparing them based on whether an individual has a preference or an allergy. We don't mess around -- we staff in a way that allows us to minimize the possibility of cross contact in our kitchen. So you're not just paying for gluten-free bread or vegan cheese -- you're paying for the extra hands and care required to prepare your food differently from everyone else's in a full restaurant. It doesn't say "smashed avocado" anywhere on our menu. It does say "smashed brussels sprouts." We use housemade guacamole in many items on our menu. I know from your Yelp review that you ordered the Avocado Portabella Reuben. Here's the description for that item on our menu... "sautéed portabella mushrooms, whipped guacamole, swiss, sauerkraut & vegan housemade thousand island on marble rye bread." We do use fresh "sliced avocado" in several items on our menu as well and would have happily substituted if that request had been made. Because our kitchen is small, we have to pre-prep and pre-portion the vegetables for our teriyaki quinoa bowl. The vegetables are rough cut (intentionally) and it is super easy to discard onions if you don't like them. The number of modifications and substitutions we suggest and allow is crazy given that we are a high-volume restaurant. Unfortunately, a commercial kitchen is not like a home kitchen. Every substitution/modification you request slows the line and impacts every other guest.
Was able to have a delicious panini. Staff asked if I was allergic or preference. Told me they take it very seriously.
Katherine! Thanks so much for your kind words. While we cannot guarantee that cross contact will never occur, we do everything we can to avoid it and we make allergy tickets with great care.
This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat! Been here a dozen times and haven't been cross contaminated once. They have good options and are marked on the menu. The staff are all pretty great and are willing to accommodate. Pro tip, come here early enough for the breakfast options! They are all amazing.
Awwwwwe. This review is a daymaker for sure! I'm excited to share it with our team. We are particularly proud of our breakfast menu and believe it showcases our delightfully different vibe very well. We look forward to seeing you next time!
Run, don’t walk to this amazing restaurant! Ask for Sierra as your waitress. She is extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and has a wonderful personality. We had the brussels sprouts with a super yummy sauce and the chicken lettuce cup. Everything was so fresh and some items were even organic - bonus! Don’t miss the gluten free desserts. Never had such a moist gf chocolate cake before.
Thank you so much for the kind words and for letting us know that you found us via this website. We're grateful.
This place was absolutely incredible. We had the smoked duck Ramen, Pad Thai and Cajun Alfredo and we all could not stop raving about their food. We topped it off with a salted carmel brownie. Service was also outstanding!
We are so very proud of our entree menu -- it means the world to us to receive this kind of feedback. Thank you.
Was very good! Gluten free bread for the paninis was great. Barely tasted gluten free! I had the side salad, they have very interesting ranch. I got the grown up grilled cheese. It was not very cheesy but it tasted great either way. My boyfriend got the bbq beef panini which was fantastic. We also got chips, guac, and salsa which was fantastic and very fresh tasting! I recommend the summer drink as well. We got a brownie which was alright, but tasted very similar to a cosmic brownie from when I was little. Overall it was about 70 dollars before tip, which considering it was two paninis with gluten free bread, an appetizer, a dessert, and a fancy drink is not nearly as bad as I was expecting. If you get entrees, which are only served after 4, it would be significantly pricier though as the paninis are 20 dollars with gf bread and the entrees range around 25.
Good experience overall though! Very nice staff.
Thank you for the kind words. We're grateful.
Delicious food, lots of choices. A little pricey but very good.
Thank you for the kind words. We want you to know us, so we're providing a little more information. We make everything from scratch; source as many ingredients as we can from other local small businesses/growers; contribute to community in a plethora of creative ways; and create a stable work environment with a livable wage for our employees. These values do result in a slightly higher cost...but we believe they also contribute to an amazing dining experience for our guests and a healthy relationship for our business with our community. We genuinely care about what we do, and we're so GRATEFUL and HONORED you gave us a try. We hope to see you again!
We love a local cafe, especially one with many gluten free options! Eaten here a few separate times and had no issues at all. Staff is very receptive to questions about preparation. Menu is marked with gf tags, good coffee and cocktail selection. Cozy vibes for a date. Say goodbye to only salads and hello to sandwiches and pizza!
Thank you for the kind words and the repeat visits. We have been so well-loved and well-supported by our community. We are incredibly grateful.
Amazing experience, great service, knowledgeable staff. Had artichoke dip with gf bread. Ham Apple panini, and took bbq chicken flatbread to go for next day. Coworker is lactose and gf, he also had chocolate cake with amazing peanut butter frosting. Definitely a go to!
Thank you so much for sharing about your experience! We just found this website and have enjoyed reading the kind words.
We shared the Rosemary Chicken & Bacon Flatbread on gf crust along with the Turkey Pesto Panini on gf bread. We each had a vanilla latte too. Sadly, we were disappointed in the food. It had very little flavor, which was surprising since they appear to use quality ingredients. I’ve never put salt on a pizza before, but it needed something. The panini was just a slightly toast sandwich. The service was good, but with a 20% tip, our bill for 2 people came to $70 and change. I don’t mind paying more for gluten free food since I have celiac, but the quality just wasn’t there for the cost.
The food here is absolutely exceptional. This restaurant has always been Celiac safe, even if their facilities aren't dedicated. The one time that I have ever gotten sick here, was when management changed, as I ended up with an anaphylactic reaction. However, the manager was amazing and did her due diligence to ensure that nothing like this ever happened again. I would not hesitate to eat here again.
Great place! Owner came over and talked with us explaining the precautions they take for gluten allergies. She was clear that they can’t promise no cross contamination but they do their best. They use different utensils/pans. For the pizza’s they are cooked in the same oven but they put them in the top shelf. No reactions after eating here. Highly recommend!
Delicious food. Wait staff asked if gluten-free was preference or allergy. The have separate pans and prep area to use if allergy
So excited to find a place with great tasting food, great service, and knowledgeable staff since this is all new to me.
