We went to this restaurant for dinner, my partner and I. I tried their 12-course menu.
After mentioning to our waitress that I was celiac, she went to check with the chef to ensure that the gluten-free option could be accommodated.
The food was delicious, but I had to ask at least 7 times if what I was served was really gluten-free... and I was right to ask. Let's just say it greatly affected my confidence, and there seemed to be a significant lack of communication in the kitchen. Our waitress spent the evening apologizing for the mistakes.
Despite these incidents, everything was very good. However, I'm not convinced that choosing the 12-course menu is the best option. I believe that managing gluten-free options would be easier with individual dishes.
Otherwise, there was a very festive atmosphere!
If I could give Kai Lounge zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disaster and a complete waste of time and money. From the moment we walked in, the service was abysmal. The staff barely acknowledged us and acted like they were doing us a favor by seating us. We waited almost 30 minutes just to get a menu, and then another 40 minutes before anyone bothered to take our order.
I ordered a gluten-free dish, and it was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. It was cold, tasteless, and looked like it had been prepared by someone who had no idea what they were doing. The vegetables were undercooked, and the meat was dry and flavorless. To make matters worse, my partner’s dish wasn’t much better—it was just as cold and seemed like it had been sitting out for hours.
The drinks were just as disappointing. My cocktail tasted like watered-down juice with no hint of alcohol. The entire place had a chaotic vibe, with loud music blaring so you couldn’t even have a conversation without shouting.
Kai Lounge is overpriced, overhyped, and underdelivers on every front. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money here. There are plenty of better options out there. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!
