Kalachandji's is Dallas' longest serving vegetarian restaurant, and it’s located in a temple just outside of downtown Dallas. In addition to incredible food, it’s a wonderful cultural experience! They practice the Ayurvedic art of cooking for the body, mind and spirit, and although their tradition is lacto-vegetarian, they serve vegan options and clearly note items that contain dairy or gluten. They never use meat, fish, eggs, onion or garlic. It’s so fresh too! No frozen or canned vegetables are allowed in the kitchen. They use expeller pressed coconut oil exclusively in their cooking, and salad dressings are made with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. They use only turbinado sugar in desserts and tamarind tea. The tea is so yummy!
