Though the website says that they cannot cater to hypersensitive individuals, they say they cook the GF doughnuts before all the others, prepared in a separate fryer and area. Six hours later, I’m completely destroyed with a huge reaction. A significant amount of gluten must have been in the food for it to cause such a severe reaction. Not safe.
The GF donuts here are SO GOOD! They taste like real donuts (or what I remember real donuts tasting like). They always have a chocolate and old fashioned GF and have one GF monthly special donuts. The GF monthly special donuts is posted on their instagram and facebook the first of the month. The staff is super careful if you let them know you have an allergy/celiac and will change gloves and make sure they put GF donuts in a separate bag and label it GF.
Delicious donuts! They're a little cake-like but that doesn't bother me - honestly I like them better than how I remember regular donuts. The flavor of the month can be hit or miss but the regular chocolate and classic varieties are always good. I think the donuts might be prepared in a shared kitchen but I'm Celiac and never had a reaction.
Gluten free donuts that taste like... donuts! Of course there is a risk eating here, but they do attempt to prevent cross contamination and I haven’t ever had a reaction (and I’ve probably gone through about 5 full “frequent donut” reward cards... I eat a lot of their donuts...)
Thank you for existing!!! I haven’t had a donut in YEARS because of gluten and dairy allergies. You made my day, maybe my whole vacation. I had the chocolate which was Amazing!!! And the apple pie and it tasted just like apple pie! Wow. We’re in Boston two more days and we will be back!
These donuts are amazing. I used to have a reaction to them but I don’t anymore. I think that they are getting better about how they handle gluten free donuts. They only have three flavors, but it is awesome to be able to have an old fashioned donut and a cup of coffee with my friends.
This place is AMAZING!!!!! A real doughnut! I fly out tomorrow and intend to buy six to take with me. They are that good :D The person working knew to change her gloves and put it in a separate bag from the cookies and cream gluten one I bought for my wife plus to get mine first. I do wish they had more variety like Boston Cream Pie, but I loved my old-fashioned glazed one. I would have been disappointed if the only options were chocolate- something I encountered yesterday at 2 different cupcake shops. Thank you, Kane’s, for making me feel normal and having such a tasty treat!
Went yesterday with my Nima sensor to test the gluten free donut it came back with low amounts of gluten found in it... didn't care for the response I got from the owner wasted trip/money for food I didn't bother to try without risking getting sick. Didn't like how I was told NO ONE ever complained about their gluten free donuts... they didn't handle the Nima test/proof well Update! Kane's Donuts blocked me from their Instagram account which has the picture proof of Nima saying their donut has gluten in it... that alone should tell you how shady they are. Best of luck to anyone who eats there. Don't believe me go on my Instagram @glutenfreepanda
We were so excited to finally get gluten free donuts that taste good and these donuts are fantastic. Unfortunately my daughter who has celiac got sick each time she ate there. We were really hoping it was something else but it wasn't. This was Saugus maybe it's worth giving Boston a try.
I was visiting Boston with my husband and we were thankfully staying close by to this location. So we stopped in and I ordered one of their gf glazed doughnuts. I finished went back inside and bought a box to take home and not share. I dream of these doughnuts! I'm determined to take a two hour road trip to go grab me another box of gf doughnuts.
This was one of those situations where you eat the donut and wait to get sick because "there's no way gluten free can taste this good!!" I am super sensitive and I had zero reaction. These donuts are the closest thing to heaven that I've tasted since my diagnosis in 2013. You HAVE to try them!! Not to mention the fact that the staff is so sweet. I called ahead to have some put aside as they sell out almost as quickly as they put them on display. I'll be coming back 100%!
