This is my favorite restaurant and I hate to leave anything less than 5 stars. The waitstaff will not necessarily know if an item is gluten free, they’ll almost always have to ask, that’s good though, I’d rather that than making something up on the spot. They do have gluten free items marked on the menu HOWEVER, know that some of those marks are seasonal only. They have a separate fryer but do not run it very often if at all especially in the earlier or later parts of the season. So pakoras and fries are not something to order unless you’ve asked about the status of the second fryer, don’t just go off the menu. I’d very much like it if they altered their menus to make a note of this because I had to learn the hard way.

The peanut soup here is absolutely outstanding. I've eaten here many times (including when they were located in Provincetown) without incident. The food is delicious and we recommend this place to everyone we know who visits the Cape.

great food, good GF selection, knowledgeable wait staff. definitely will be back
Many gluten-free options (marked on menu). Waiter was knowledgeable about what could be made gluten-free. Excellent food!
update: we went back a year later. 8/2/17. the waitress told us ALL fried items are cooked in the same frialator. Not GF.
We had 3 different GF meals. All were fantastic! Waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and what to avoid and GF options were listed. Many choices.

Finally! A place on the Cape where my wife can look past the salad menu (sans dressings, at that....). Unique dishes, wide variety, vegan and vegetarian options. We are not familiar with South African cuisine, so I won't begin to critique the dishes except to say: delicious. Top it all off with a knowledgeable server and friendly hostess. We will be back!

Delicious food and excellent staff!! Karoo is a South African restaurant with some excellent GF options. Call and speak to them before coming and they can tell you about GF fries, GF chicken fingers, as well as many other delicious options. Great kids menu as well. Very celiac friendly and knowledgable about cross contamination.

As good as the old Kafe that used to grace the streets of P-Town. The vegetable pakoras are a must! They are GF deep fried goodness. The staff is also extremely understanding and takes allergies very seriously. They offer both a sit down option and to-go foods.
