They had no gf menu, on the normal menu nothing was marked as gf. The employees didn't understand what I was talking about: "choose I will tell the chef". When I showed her my gf restaurant card, she had no clue what to do with it, she took a photo of it and came back with the chef or the boss (?), that was talking about gf in thai, so we did not understand. But the waitress did not explain it to us 🤷🏼♀ I decided not to eat there, because I didn't feel safe at all. I watched my boyfriend eating his massaman curry, that was very tasty and then we left. The staff barely speaks english, what the situation made even more hopeless.

The on-site restaurant at ko yao yai village is AMAZING. When I mentioned I’m celiac, they made fresh gluten free muffins every morning, and also had gf breads available. And they have gluten free marked on the room service menu, and can make most food gf. Tastes amazing and particularly the best gf I’ve found in all of Thailand. I’m also dairy free, which they could also accommodate for me! :)))
