Kirari West Bake Shop

So across the street from Kirari confections, in the same parking lot, is @kirariwest bake shop which is a cafe, also 100% dedicated gluten free. Here they sell breads, sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, French toast, pasties, salads and a variety of cakes.

This location was much busier than the bake shop. I ordered the chocolate mousse sponge cake, a white chocolate strawberry shortcake, a blueberry muffin and the brioche au chocolate for there.

The cakes were really tasty! They were made with quality ingredients and I could see why the place was packed! I liked my brioche very much as it reminded me somewhat of a pain au chocolat, just heavier bread. But still very good.

Wow!! I’m always looking for new places that are safe for my son, and this place is awesome! There are actually two GF bakeries/cafes in the same strip mall, both run by the same owner- Kirari West Bake Shop and Confections by Kirari West. Both had great staff who are very accommodating and knowledgeable. I had a waffle topped with an egg, ham and Gruyère cheese- delicious. The waffle was very fluffy and you wouldn’t even know it’s GF. I bought a few more bakery items to bring home to my son on the east coast, and was informed that they will ship some of their items via their website (kirariwest.com and confectionskw.com) Will definitely be stopping by here anytime I’m in town.

My absolute favorite place to go and especially without worrying about what to order. I just recently got a friend into here and she loves it so now I get to go more often. Staff are always so great too especially Lisa who has been there since forever. I first met Hiro at the gluten free expo in Pasadena years ago. Loved his stall and loved that Kirari West was so close to my home. Honestly there’s nothing I’ve ordered that I don’t like. I don’t like olives but I will totally eat them on the bread they have there. Love Kirari West!

A lot of yummy stuff here and lovely bread but it was their cinnamon buns that are what keeps us coming back. They sell out so order ahead if you’re coming later in the day.

I come here every time I have a layover in LA! The muffins are the best thing ever! They don’t have a gross after taste, and taste like normal muffins. The sandwiches are also yummy. I’ve had the breakfast chipotle one, and also the seasonal pastrami sandwich. The cinnamon roll was very ok, and I’ve had better.

We stopped here before I headed to the airport to catch my return flight home and I had the Turkey Pesto Panini. It was so delicious, plus it was the first panini I've had since my celiac diagnosis in 2012! The bun stayed intact and all the flavors were phenomenal. Dedicated gluten free deliciousness for the win!!

I wish I'd discovered them at the beginning of my vacation, not the end. Everything looked awesome. I can't wait to go back!

Since I was diagnosed with celiac, I have been unable to find many bakeries that are even close to outstanding. This place blew me away! Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. The two of us ordered the turkey egg melt, the carbonara, and blueberry muffin. Both were delicious and filling! wished we lived closer, I would be a regular!

Delicious and all gluten free!! Loved the matcha muffin sample but unfortunately they were all out. Would have grabbed a dozen! The other muffins were a little bland and the avocado toast was a squeezed avocado sauce-ish. Would prefer a sliced avocado. The sliced bread is delicious as was the mocha! I ate here in January of 2023 with my mom and grandparents who aren’t gf. We all enjoyed the food. I split the caprese panini and grilled cheese with my mom (the honey chipotle that came with the grilled cheese was so good! Next time I get to go I would be torn between trying the other sauces or just getting the honey chipotle again). My grandparents were more in the middle for breakfast and got French toast and a breakfast sandwich. We split some cake for dessert. Honestly couldn’t tell anything was gf!!!

Most of their pastries are absolutely delicious, and their sandwiches are also very good. I’ve had a few things here that have been underwhelming, but their strawberry cakes and hot sandwiches make it worth the trip. If you plan on eating there, be aware that this place can be a bit of a sensory nightmare. Dozens of people in line, dining, and waiting for drink orders all pack into this small space at once. You very may well have someone’s butt in your face the entire time you’re eating.

This place is phenomenal. I live on the east coast, but every few years I make it to LA and I make sure to come here ASAP. Somehow not only are their baked goods delicious and flaky, the almond brioche I bought kept nicely for four days as I traveled around… I also kept a loaf of the sandwich bread with me and had it as many mornings as I could. My husband laughed at me cradling it like a baby. It’s so good I could cry.

This is THE place for gluten free treats, breakfast and lunch in the South Bay. Everything is delicious, however the Cheesy ham buns are excellent as is the Kirari salad with homemade croutons. My 10 yo (celiac) has been eating here for years and has never had a reaction. It’s quite a treat for her to walk in and choose ANYTHING from the bakery case or menu. Their iced green teas are exceptional. We now have to stop here for bread and bakery items and then head across the parking lot to stock up on cookies at Kirari’s new gluten free cookie shop, Confections, which is amazing!
