Ki's was started as a simple idea in a small converted beauty shop in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. In 1980 Catherine "Ki" Holcomb partnered with her son to start it. They have great food and an ocean view with everything made GF with the exception of a few items. My celiac daughter had chicken tortilla soup and GF mac’n cheese with cauliflower and had no problem!

Celiac’s beware..we spoke to the owner today and he told us to tell everyone that they are not celiac safe. They do not have a separate toaster or care to be celiac safe. Very disappointing as they have GF bread but are completely unaware of cross contamination issues and do not have any interest in creating an environment for celiacs to eat safely. Very sad.

Separate menu, lots of choice. Waitstaff asked immediately about allergies. Good food and had a gf apple crumble which was delish!

I was so excited about this place because of their separate gluten free menu and the location. When I got there and began to order this super rude waitress was trying to give the guy taking my order a phone order that was coming in and completely ignored the fact that we were chatting and I was on the other side of the counter. Then I specified that I was a celiac and gluten free and ordered the gluten free version of a salad type thing with a corn tortilla at the bottom. My friend got her meal very quickly but I was waiting about a half hour. My plate finally came and luckily for whatever reason I decided to question it. I asked the waiter if it was a corn tortilla and he says "ummm I think that's a whole wheat one" and I said that I needed to know and he said he'd go check. In the meantime I move the salad around and realize my "corn tortilla" does look odd, but not before I eat some of the "corn chips" on top of the dish. I wait about 15 minutes for the waiter and then break off a piece of the tortilla and take it down to them. Again my presence at the counter was ignored (it didn't seem that busy) and then when I was acknowledged I was assured that I had been given a whole wheat tortilla! (And rather nonchalantly I might add) I asked for my money back and they were kind enough to refund, so that was good. I thought I'd gotten off Scott free because I caught the tortilla blunder but ended up getting violently ill within 24hrs and I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn't questioned the dish and eaten the whole thing.

My family and I have been to this restaurant twice. The fist time was during lunch hours.....everything was fabulous! The second visit was during dinner hours. It was like visiting an entirely different restaurant, it was not child friendly, food wasn't prepared properly and tasted awful and we were all glutened. We waited 45 minutes for our check. Although we were give a $20 voucher for our next visit, the experience was so bad that we won't be returning. Really sad.....we thought we had found "our place"

Tons of gf options and great views. However, I was not impressed with the food both times I've been here.

Very good food and amazing ocean views. Reasonable prices and good flavor combinations.

Four stars due to: Our food arrived cold (still great and wasn't really worth complaining) Not as Celiac friendly as I would have liked

Loved it! GF variety on every course. Food was out of this world. Even my 3 & 4 yr olds loved the GF choices. Right on ocean! Started by serving us plate of delicious GF bread, enjoyed heirloom Caprese salad, delectable Seafood Curry main dish, and Creme brûlée for dessert. Kids had GF chicken & rice, GF burrito served with apple slices, carrots, celery sticks. Returning for breakfast tomorrow!
