Have eaten here several times for business meals when visiting SF. Food is quite good but the GF safety and knowledge has been poor. Was likely glutened on at least one occasion and from now own i only order a salad when i go for work meals. Not celiac friendly in my experience.

I do not believe they took any extra care in my food preparation. Server insisted potatoes weren’t fried, I asked him to check with kitchen. Turns out they are fried and cross contaminated, which he came back to tell me. After I told him this was not ok for me and they could leave them out of the dish, my plate still arrived with the potatoes.

Selected Kokkari for dinner in San Fran based on reviews from this app. While what I ended up with was good (baked halloumi cheese and grilled vegetable skewers), I wasn’t overly impressed with the service / handling of GF. First, the potatoes on the menu state that they are oven baked with lemon and oregano, but upon asking they are actually breaded and fried. How disappointing for a usually GF item! Additionally, I ordered hummus with cucumbers for dipping (no GF cracker or bread option). The plate arrived with a pile of pitas touching the other items. Our server was horrible, so I’m guessing this was likely a one off and I’d probably still try it again, but definitely not the amazing experience others wrote about.

There are many gluten free options! The appetizers, salads, main courses, and desserts were all amazing! I cannot recommend this highly enough. Wait staff was incredibly helpful on identifying safe dishes.

The staff here understands the needs of people with celiac, and the menu lends itself to many choices, all of which are awesome! Definitely a “treat” due to the price point, but you will not be disappointed!

Phenomenal celiac option. They really know what they are doing. Extremely attentive. 6/6 dishes, from starter to dessert passed Nima tests. Best meal I have had out in a long time.

Fantastic. Very knowledgeable waiters. A solid half of the menu is naturally GF. Faves were the octopus and the lamb. Also, the flourless chocolate cake is amazing. For a splurge dinner or special occasion, it’s delicious.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Staff was very knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. Food was delicious and service was great. Just plan ahead and make reservations. This restaurant is very popular.
