Delightful dinner in a lovely garden with good food and wine, topped off by attentive and friendly service staff.
We had been a group of 5 with dogs without a reservation and were lucky enough to get a table. Within a short period of time the place filled up.
Our waiter was polite and welcomed us professionally yet relaxed. He was knowledgeable on the menu and daily offers and worked swiftly.
I informed the waiter about my food intolerances which was taken seriously, and the waiter answered my questions patiently. He assured me that whenever possible they try to make adjustments to dishes to suit someone’s dietary requirements, which is manageable as dishes are prepared from scratch. However, according to the waiter, when really busy it might not be fully possible due to limited resources and kitchen space.
Our group received an entrée (“kitchen greeting”), and I had been served with a dish specially made for me (to suit my dietary requirements), which I do not take for granted and appreciate highly, as it isn’t common practice. It also happened to match my taste ideally.
The mains (fish and meat) were excellent. Tasteful, well-balanced seasoning, good texture, generous portion size and high-quality ingredients. Dishes are made to order yet served within a reasonable time. The fish was served in an iron tray which looked rustic and made a nice visual impression which adds another point to the already lovely dinner.
The menu offers typical local cuisine with quite a selection of choices that suit a broad variety of taste. They also serve dedicated gluten free dishes (veggie and meat based).
The white truffle season has just started out and dishes with these are quite expensive but worth every penny. The prize ranges of the other dishes are according to expectation and justified given the quality of the food.
Groups should definitely make a booking when visiting at main dinner times, but one can always try to get a table by walking in.
