Moderate level of safety, I was fine and enjoyed my evening, yet recommend anyone with severe Celiacs to call ahead before coming.
As I said, I had a pleasant dinner with tasty food! Me and my companion had a fish platter for 2 with an exquisit selection of fish & seafood (black sole, prawns, pilgrim mussels), served with a side of swiss chard.
The food was arranged appealingly, on a large plate, which made it easy to handle the portions. The quality was very good as well as taste/spice.
Other choices of food are typical for Istrian cuisine: potatos, grilled veggies for sides, different types of meat and fish (grilled; whole or filet) or mussels for mains. Also, the menu contains starters & soups or risotto. The choice of veggie-only dishes is rather small (in regard to main dishes).
Service staff was good. The main waitress is knowledgeable on the food (where it is sourced, etc), but when I declared my food intolerances to the second waitress I wasn‘t quite sure if she understood, as her English language skills were not very profound. I had a Croatian translation with me that I showed. Unfortunately the platter still had some of the food on that I cannot habe - but it didn‘t contaminate the main food and was easy to remove.
I‘d recommend to make a booking in advance, even as it wasn‘t the main season, the restaurant is well attended. It‘s very good quality and hence popular.
(and it is dog friendly too!)
