It’s always a good sign when I alert restaurant staff to my celiacs diagnosis and they don’t give me the “confused golden retriever” head tilt. They will guide you through the menu. The tacos are safe (my favorite being the pollo tacos con todo) but the chips are NIT. They are homemade and they don’t have a dedicated fryer. That being said, the tacos are SO good that we would rather stay overnight in Troy and drive 35 minutes to a concert at SPAC to be only one block from these tacos.
(Jan. 2023) Went and had 3 carnitas pork “traditional” tacos - they were delicious and I had no issues afterwards! I told the person at the cash register that I have celiacs and she told me that they make everything with homemade corn tortillas and only use flour tortillas when someone specifically requests them so the chance of cross contamination is very low. My mom (no dietary restrictions) had a steak quesadilla that she said was also very good.
The tacos here are delicious and the portions are huge. There are several options to choose from, i got 3 different meats and all so yummy. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve missed having great tacos. They come on corn tortillas and the chips and guac are awesome too but a little greasy. The leftover chips held up the next day and we’re just as crispy and delicious as they were the night before. We had the pleasure of sitting outside on a chilly night in the tents that have space heaters which made the experience even more enjoyable. Service is really fast.
I found this places thru this app and called ahead to make sure it's GF, as I'm very sensitive; they recommended the tacos and I saw 3 comments on here praising the tacos. I ate 2/3 tacos before feeling the symptoms creep. If you're a sensitive celiac, the cross contamination will be too much. It WAS very tasty, buttt being sick isn't fun, as we know. Submitting as one star to hopefully help someone else who is as sensitive as I am to CC
Best tacos I have ever eaten! Veggie tacos are to die for, along the Carnitas tacos. Every taco besides the fish (it’s battered) is gluten free. Chips are not gluten free due to cross contamination in the fryer. Quesadillas also have flour in them, but all tacos and taco bowls are safe! Amazing guac, too! I am the most sensitive celiac I know and I had 0 issues with cross contamination as of Jan 2022.
