Dedicated gf kitcghen area. Owner has Celiac and staff is highly trained.
Gluten free menu is absolutely wonderful, and the family that owns it are wonderful as well. Extremely knowledgable and diligent about food allergies. This was our first visit and will return soon.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place and go to Roberts Scratch Kitchen instead. the gf menu lis imited and when I asked for pasta dish on "regular" menu but with gluten free pasta they would not accommodate this simple request. Additionally, the prices are very high. Lastly, we didn't ordered dessert but our server brought a gf creme brûlée because we had a birthday in our party - and then charged us $10 for the dessert we didn't order.
Been here numerous times and it’s always very delicious Italian food. Many options for gf diners and great food period. Owner is Celiac, need I say more....
Amazing food! I did not worry one bit about cross contamination and will definitely go back. Huge selection of amazing Italian dishes!
Great place , excellent options . Nice people.
Update - 04/28/2017 Three years ago I found out I had celiac and we found this place. Back then it was a treasure. We go a few times a year. On the past few visits we noticed the attention to GF customers has declined. The GF menu has shrunk. One of the things I miss most about being celiac is the pizza. This place use to make awesome pizza and it was the reason I continued to go. They took it off the menu. Don't offer it any more. Very sad. The GF champion, Maria, the daughter of the owners is not as active in the restaurant, so the attention to the GF patrons is not there. The GF creations that she would experiment with and offer are no longer part of the specials or menu. What is offered is standard pasta, eggplant, and parmigiana. That's about it. They are cooked excellent. The taste is amazing. But again, extremely limited menu. This is now a regular Italian restaurant that offers a few gluten free dishes, not "the best GF restaurant I have ever found" place that I previously raved about. Ps - the only pasta that GF is penna. if you want spaghetti or something else GF it does cost you $5 extra. That's an unwanted change too. 5/24/2014 - I just found out that I have Celiac. Maria, the owner, could see in my face that I was scared and hesitant to start a new diet. She was courteous and explained a lot of things to me. She gave me websites and literature regarding proper care of the disease. I was seated close to her and the staff, and they explained every dish and every process taken to prepare the food. And it tasted AMAZING! I was completely surprised at how good wheat free pasta and bread tasted. I strongly recommend this place.
Best experience we've had in a true gluten free restaurant.
I so wanted to love this place and patronize it frequently since it is very hard to find safe gluten free Italian prepared in a dedicated space in the kitchen to ensure no cross contamination. The owners daughter Maria was very assuring and explained how careful they are with GF. The first time I came here the GF food and desserts were delicious so I could forgive the very small portions and high prices for a restaurant that was not upscale and had outdated decor. The second time was a huge disappointment. The food was flavorless and the service was very slow and inattentive. My family who ordered from the regular menu said the food was flavorless as well. My daughter asked for spaghetti instead of penne on the side and they charged us $5 extra because they said they only offer penne. The only thing I enjoyed that evening was the GF dessert. We all left so disappointed because we thought we found a place we could go to regularly. I'm amazed at the great reviews because the food was so inconsistent.
Friendly people and pretty big gluten free menu. The food is just average though
Everyone here is very friendly and accommodating. They owner explained that everything gluten free is prepared with designated gluten free pots and utensils. I felt very safe eating here and the food is delicious! All the desserts are gluten free and two were even gluten and dairy free!
Good food and Celiac safe!
This is Italian how I remember before celiac. Food delicious!! When my gf bread came out in its own foil wrap, I knew I was gonna be good! Great spot!
a great selection dedicated cocking utensils to avoid cross contamination
My wife and I went here a few months ago. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best Italian restaurants we have eaten at. Amazing GF options. I couldn't believe how amazing the GF dishes are. Great place for a dinner for two or with family and friends.
I'd recommend a reservation, and tell them you're planning to order gluten free. They brought out bread in foil, but it did cost extra I believe. Really delicious food. They have a whole menu of gf desserts. A whole menu!
Amazing. Dining out was so enjoyable. I didn't feel left out. I had a roll seafood salad chicken parm a the dcoco for desert. Everything was delicious. Staff is extremely knowledgable all deserts are gluten free. Every bite was awesome
Wonderful food and service! Full GF menu! No need to feel deprived here!
Absolutely incredible meal tonight! Great GF bread, amazing Penne Vodka, followed by a fight over the D'Apple Crumbcake (because it was so good!!!). Definitely our new go to place! Maria, who has celiac, oversees everything - so there are no worries about cross contact with gluten. AND she has a GF catering menu!!!!! 8/8/15 - just had another FAbuLOUS dinner here! Stuffed artichokes, penne bologna de, and chocolate cake made by Maria's brother Duke! Our favorite restaurant!!!!!
Most amazing experience I've ever had. ever. The gf good was soo good and so was the "other" as per the bf. such a wonderfully relaxed mood. Not casual, but so comfortable.
I am gluten and dairy free. I had shrimp scampi, chicken parm with vegan cheese and the brownie. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.
Went in for an Anniversary dinner with my husband and had the most amazing meal since going gluten free 2 months prior. Will definitely go back. My husband ate the Gluten Free food too and he loved it. It was a wonderful treat to not have to worry about cross contamination and have delicious, varied options on the menu. I can't wait to go back - the only minus is that it is a bit pricey - but it will be our special occasion go to from now on.
Excellent restaurant for people who eat gluten free and people who don't. I have Celiacs disease and it can often be anxiety provoking to go out to eat. The owner was really accommodating, super friendly and I wasn't worried about any cross contamination. If I lived closer, I'd go every weekend!
I love this place. They have a completely separate GF menu. The appetizers and main course we had were excellent. I'm a harsh critic when it comes to food. The bread and dessert we had could have been better but, at least we had options. The staff, specifically Maria, was AMAZING. She suffers from Celiac and explained the menu and everything there for us with such care. I will definitely be going back.
Best Italian food... 100 celiacs friendly. Totally going back there
The best Italian restaurant period, gluten free or not. Family owned and operated, when you are there, you are family too. Maria has celiac and has "gluten free" dinners three or four times a year on Monday nights when the restaurant is closed. The food is served family style and "Pop" make the most amazing dishes ever. You will never know they are gluten free. You also get to meet other people and network information on what items to try and where to get it. Great Restaurant!!!
Just finished eating here and the food was excellent. Nice size portions for your money. The fact that everything is made to not be cross contaminated is awesome. They even brought out gluten free bread to start off with. Will deffenitly be coming back
The safest place I have eaten at. The owners daughter is celiac. They accommodate other dietary allergies as well.
Best GF restaurant I have ate at! I felt 100% comfortable eating their because the staff was very knowledgable about Celiacs! I defiantly recommend this palace! I can't wIt to eat here again! The food is amazing !
Had a great experience with their bread, stuffed artichoke and pasta. Maria makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed, with no worries about being contaminated.
Amazing owners. Very dedicated to takin care of their customer's allergies. And with keeping the taste and quality in check. Don't think twice about going here...go eat now!
Outstanding dining experience for gluten free dining!! Maria is extremely accommodating not just for gluten free, but other allergies as well. Food is delicious too!!
If you have celiacs (or even if not) you have to go here. Hands down the best meals I've had and they are all amazing there.
Great GF options. Love the warm bread they start you off with, very tasty. Compliments to the chef, he obviously puts thought into his menu. Yum.
Amazing food and service. Lots of options. Can't wait to go again
Excellent food, great service. Maria the chef's daughter greater us at the door and informed us of all the items on the menu that were gluten free. The gluten free muffins were terrific. I took five home with me. We had a gluten free brownie and it was very tasty. Gluten free menu was very extensive and had plenty of options. My non gluten Free friends also really enjoyed their meals.
the food is great and they take gf seriously. seperate prep area and utensils and plates. the owner has celiac and is so aware of the proper precautions to avoid cc. great authentic italian food!
WOW what a wonderful experience we had at this restaurant! Not only was the food delicious, but Maria (the daughter of the chef) put together a great gluten free menu, and was very helpful with GF info. My daughter had the chicken parm and pasta from that menu. She loved it! We will definitely go back!
They are my favorite! Beautiful place, excellent attention, fresh food, and the detail to serve celiac customers is extra special.
I'm truely greatful for this family owned business, not only for their scrumptious food but also for their hospitality.Their gluten free menu has a plethora of selections to choose from and you are treated like royalty.I want to thank their establishment for supporting the community especially during our trying time after Hurricane Sandy hit.Not only did they give you extra food, they reduce the prices on items or your total bill. From the dainty daughter Maria, who is the reason for the g.f menu,to the father who prepares the marvelous meals,to mom,the merry maitre' d,to the buddy bartender, and to the waiting waiters/waitresses,collectively they will make you feel like kings, queens, princes,or princesses.
They even started us with bruschetta on gf crackers.
Best gluten free option around!
Just had the best meal since being diagnosed with Celiac... The staff here is very attentive to GF needs. I had the pizza (excellent) and I'm very picky about pizza. The Veal Parm was awesome and for desert, I had pumpkin pie...! Maria was on top of things and made us feel like long time family friends. If you have Celiac, love Italian food and live anywhere near this place, you need to check it out. And finally, no belly ache!
Awesome flavor. I had the veal parm with pasta and it was the best I've had in years. I will be back for more!
This place has a great menu and they go through great lengths to ensure there is no contamination. They food is delicious.
Great gluten free menu. Maria is very attentive for the gluten free customers. We had a great meal, the food was delicious.
