I took some photos of todays menu. They label what can be gluten free or is naturally gluten free. Regardless I still mentioned “I need it gluten free and I’m sensitive to cross contamination”. They were careful and since I was sitting at the bar, delivered it straight from the kitchen, which is right at the bar seating.
I had ceviche and a scallop appetizer, which was enough to fill me up. It was all delicious!
I will be back to try more stuff soon!
I will say I had two waitstaff and a bartender taking my orders, at each interaction I mentioned that I had a gluten allergy and am sensitive to cross contamination. (I have celiac but I speak to restaurant folks in the language they are trained to pay attention to. I have celiac disease but have learned to speak to waitstaff based on how they are trained, and I remind them as nauseum.)

I got glutened at La Royal. I had high hopes since they specified which dishes were gf on the menu. I also told the server I had celiac disease. The first course arrived with the sauce on the side which they said was allergy safe, and then after we ate half of it they rushed over and told me not to eat it. Too late! They were not at all apologetic or understanding of how sick I was going to get as a result. If you have celiac disease I would not recommend taking any chances dining here.
