I returned to Madison over the holidays and was pleased to find this alternate location near my hotel. I have been to the Washington Ave. facility and gave it a good review. This location did not disappoint! It is a larger facility with a larger menu so all service is typical of any sit-down restaurant, i.e. no ordering at a window. I ended up eating here twice enjoying the empanadas and arepa sandwiches. Like the other facility, they are very knowledgeable and most of the menu is GF or can be made that way. They had live Venezuelan music for the holidays and a nice patio for warmer months. I'm only giving 4 hearts for safety since it's not completely GF, but celiacs can be quite safe here.
Dedicated gluten free fryer. Tons of options. Excellent, unique food.
This is an awesome Venezuelan restaurant! The other location was closed, this one didn't have any reviews but we took a chance. Had a ton of items listed as gluten-free on the menu, they have three fryers, one of which is dedicated gluten free, and the server marked everything in the order. We had arepas, empanadas, and shrimp with fries and fried plantains. Everything was delicious. The food took longer to prepare because they were taktakinging all the precautions. Our super sensitive celiac child did not get sick. They have a nice patio area outside as well as nice booths and dining room indoors.
