**Update- review for SLU location:
Went in and asked to clarify which macarons contain gluten. The person working told me “these are all not celiac safe” and went on to explain that other employees had left “a mess” in the back and had not been following proper protocols so they did not feel confident about cross contamination. They said that typically the macarons are made and stored separately and the only issue would be displaying them all in the same case, but reiterated that while they were out, other staff had neglected this and “you should see the state of the macarons in the back, it would scare you.” The staff member was very polite and transparent but unfortunately I left empty handed, feeling sad and disappointed in one of my favorite desserts.
Previous review (Pioneer Square location): Macarons are delicious. The atmosphere in this shop is adorable, and they also have a stand at SeaTac airport. Most of the macarons are GF, but a handful are not, and they are stored in the case together. The staff is really friendly and always changes gloves without you even asking. But the macaron labeling is inconsistent, and staff doesn’t always know which are GF vs not, so check the website. All that said, I’ve never gotten sick, and I have their macarons regularly.
Extremely delicious macarons. Be advised in person only 1 flavor was labeled as not gluten free. Several I had selected that were labeled safe were listed as not gluten free on the printed menu. I would compare both menus and ask an employee for help in the future before selecting.
