I worked here. I miss all of you. I miss serving you. But I will tell you this. This lady stores her gluten free in the same fridge as her regular bread The bread could be full and the gluten-free could be in the door and the bags were definitely touching. I informed her that's the Caesar salad dressing had expired and she continued to serve it anyway into 2 months after the expiration day. 3-4 months. Even it expired in November. I left at the end of February. I stopped serving it but she didn't. All of the sandwiches have gotten smaller she doesn't have separate containers which I suggested for the ingredients for the gluten-free products. Would have just been Tupperware containers below? I went through the extra effort of reaching down below but not everybody did that. Surely there was cross-contamination Yes I'm upset. Yes I was mistreated. Yes, as a 45-year-old who actually really cared went home questioning my self value everyday but this is not why I'm letting you know this. I didn't actually know this site existed and I care about the guests the most. So although I respected, as much as I could, the needs of gluten-free as many people complimented me on their own Google reviews. I needed my job and now that I'm gone you should know those particular things I wish you all the best of luck and if you see me in the street, please don't be afraid to wave. And just because I'm gone doesn't mean that you should stop ordering milkshakes.

Had a wonderful, delicious and safe experience! The sub was an absolute delight! The staff was confident, aware and took every precaution to avoid cross contamination!
Do yourself a favor and go try out this gem of a spot!

I love Lake Street Subs. Their gluten free sub rolls are from Edible Options, so obviously they are fantastic. The staff is very careful about cross contamination and clean the prep area and change gloves before making my sub. I've gone there many times and I've never gotten sick despite being VERY reactive to gluten. I am very comfortable recommending the place to other celiacs. Their subs are delicious, too!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. They take gluten allergies very seriously. They asked if I had an allergy and then cleaned the entire prep area. Highly recommended this place!

I’ve always had a WONDERFUL experience here! Their buns are from Edible Options, and the meat is from Big Red Meat Market in Thorold (as of January, 2024). They always change gloves, get ingredients from underneath, clean the counter, and are very knowledgeable about celiac when asked. Plus, if you order online, they place a little yellow paper to say the GF sub was made with care - such a small but reassuring touch! I would definitely recommend Lake Street Subs!!! However, I always react to the Big red Deli Meat (turkey, ham) but the bacon and chicken has always been fine - that could just be me however!

Fantastic experience. One of the workers, it might’ve even been the owner, has celiac. Spoke with her for awhile. They have an ingredient list posted right where you order and lists every item they have, like the sandwich meats, sauces, etc, and what is in it. The sun buns are from Edible Options so that’s amazing. There are very few gluten containing items on the menu. The worker who served me cleaned everything and even took fresh veggies from the new bins in the fridge. I will absolutely be going back. The sub was great.
