Food and chef/cook excellent. Server did not write down the correct order so I ended up with a sandwich when I had ordered a pasta dish. The bread was dry but they did give me extra sauce to dip. I should have sent it back to get what I really wanted, my fault. So be specific so it’s clear to the server. Otherwise nice food options and environment. The GF cannoli are GF but not a cannoli… it’s a pizzelle with a buttercream filling that was way too sweet. Disappointing as a real GF cannoli us not impossible.
We welcome calling your orders in ahead of time, as we consider our food, slow food. each meal is prepared to order from scratch. The gluten free element means we are also sanitizing a station and taking extra precautions for your meal.
Have been to the new location a few times now and have had really positive experiences. They seem to take gluten allergies seriously and even have a separate sandwich station with a gluten free sign above it. Portions are generous, and the food has been really good. Wasn't a big fan of the sub rolls or pizza crust, but that is probably more personal preference. Mozzarella triangles, chicken and waffles, as well as the chicken parm were all amazing.
Been there several times had breakfast twice and both times got an omelet. Food was really good and cooked in a separate gluten-free area.I have also had a pizza and french fries which were very good.If I didnt live on the south shoreI I would probably be there several times a week.Good portions and friendly owners and staff.
I went there for breakfast and had the Irish Eggs Benedict. I really enjoyed it. The kitchen has an entirely separate area to do GF cooking and had slightly different plates to denote GF food. The owner stopped by and mentioned that his sister has Celiac's so he takes it seriously and wants provide good food for all. No reaction and will definitely be back
Breakfast- was not impressed with the breakfast. Had gluten free offerings but the overall quality of the food was just ok. My omelette was soggy and the bread barely toasted. They also had to remake my order because they didn’t have my allergies noted correctly. I’d try it for lunch or dinner if I go back but wouldn’t rush back for their breakfast
Chicken piccata was good & the pasta was great and cooked perfectly. A heads up that they will be closed for a few months while they move across the street to a larger location… mostly to accommodate for more gluten free production Including pastries. Very knowledgeable and understanding while handling my questions. Items were labeled gf and on receipt.
I have been gluten free since being diagnosed with celiac 6 years ago. I’ve been to many places that claim to have GF “options”, but not really what I would want to order or would trust to order. Well, Today I tried LaRosa’s for the first time. Wow! I had the best chicken parm sub I Think I have ever had, even prior to Celiac. Awesome chicken cutlets, the perfect amount of sauce and cheese and the warm roll even held together and tasted like “real” bread. Thank you to the owner and staff who were incredibly helpful. I will be back, often!
LaRosa's has the most delicious gluten free soups. And the gluten free sub rolls are amazing.
I can’t remember the last time I got a sandwich or sub that wasn’t disintegrating in my hands. The GF sub roll that they use was so good, it held together and was so tasty. So pleased with my experience here and food we received. Will definitely be ordering from here again in the future!
We had a soccer game in the area and my family was excited to find this place on Find Me GF because we could *all* (Celiac and non-celiac) get pizza! Pros: staff is knowledgeable and spot on in their estimated time for food to be ready. We celiacs ate and had no symptoms after (my son is super sensitive, so I'm confident in no cross-contamination). Cons: the GF pizza was pretty tasteless, crust was thick and chewy (not in a good way). Gluten-eaters were also very underwhelmed on flavor. Daughter ordered chicken broccoli ziti GF and, while hot and fresh, alfredo sauce had no flavor either.
Love this place. The chicken parm pasta is so very good. They have a dedicated GF fryer and preparation station. They are also a nut free facility for anyone with peanut or tree nut allergies. I’m not celiac but my son is and I trust this place. They have baked Gf treats at times as well! I tried the chocolate chip cookie and it was so good. No ingredient list for the gf baked items but I felt confident that it was GF given their dedication to GF and the woman who makes the treats has a GF family member. Try it!
My son was just diagnosed with celiac. It's been difficult finding his favorite foods in the gluten free form that actually taste good!! We are so happy that we found larosas! I spoke with the owner in depth..he has a designated gluten free area, fryer, etc! We ordered a steak and cheese sub, a chicken Parm dinner, and pizza! We also tried the carrot cake (best I've ever had ) as well as the chocolate chip cookie!! Everything was amazing !! It's tough for a 12 year old to go to parties, etc. Having to bring his own food. Not anymore !! We are so happy!
Great gluten free menu. I tried eggplant parm and chicken broccoli and ziti. Both delish. I am gluten intolerant with no reactions.
Jason the owner goes out of his way to make sure you get no cross contamination!!! They even offer gluten free options with their specials- the BBQ sauce is gluten free and they will make gluten free corn muffins!!!
Great gluten free pasta and pizza crusts!
Owner is very knowledgeable about celiac disease and extremely serious about taking the proper precautions
Excellent gluten free chicken Parm, made from scratch by the owner. I was totally satisfied with the quality of the gluten-free chicken Parm and gluten-free pasta dinner. This was my first time at LaRosa’s and I went there based on the reviews on this site, and it didn’t disappoint. I will definitely be back
Worth the wait ! This place had the most delicious Italian sub I have had since becoming GF. Board Head deli is gluten free ( who knew) the roll was toasted which made it pretty good. The girl at the register seemed new because she wasn't knowledgeable but thankfully the owner came out and explained that he can make anything you want gluten free especially if you order ahead. As a treat he also gave me a chocolate chip cookie that was really tasty. The owner said I should microwave it for 7 seconds but it never made it home 🤣. Lastly , do not stop by if you're in a hurry. For some reason everything you order takes a very long time for no apparent reason but it is worth it. PS- while we were waiting a crazy long time the owner gave my husband a piece of pizza which he says was the best he's ever had.
Their Facebook page has a gluten free menu. They have a salad bar, soup from scratch and most are GF. They purchase the GF bread and sub rolls from Something Sweet without Wheat. The GF pizza is made in the same oven on an aluminum tray. They also now sell rice bowls. Talk to the owner / chef and work through any questions.
