Don’t eat here unless you’re ok with just some grilled fish and nothing else. Unfortunately got glutened here a few days ago. The waitress asked the manager if the Caesar dressing was gluten free (the Caesar salad is a speciality there) and was told “oh it has soy in it…” should have known from there. They brought out my first salad with not just croutons, but a whole cut of bread with it. The waitress saw it and said “aww man I didn’t even think about the croutons!” I got my new salad and still got glutened… it’s a great place if your not gf, but if you have to eat sans gluten, don’t eat here.

On the menu it says in big letters “THIS IS NOT A GLUTEN FREE RESTAURANT” But I got the grouper and the Cesar salad and didn’t have any problems because it was naturally gluten free. I didn’t like it at all. I asked for the garlic bread on another plate, my family was thankful that I had them bring it out so they had something to eat because they hated the grouper too. I ate my grouper with ketchup anyways because I was very hungry. the Cesar salad was super nasty. The dressing was nasty oil that made everything soggy. Not like usual Cesar dressing. I would not recommend or ever go here again.
Manager was sensitive to GF needs. I did not have any symptoms after eating the house salad with grilled grouper. The grill is not used for anything but meats. Not sure about other meals but I had a great experience.
I was able to eat here by simply ordering grilled grouper on a platter and telling the staff to keep it away from everything else. I risked the Caesar salad and was glutened. Be careful here.
They have nothing but beer and wine and they boil their shrimp in beer. You can get grilled fish but that is really it. Not great option for celiacs who like option and want to eat shrimp.
No
Don't waste your time. Limit to no options, very rude and too busy to deal with a food allergy. There are plenty of other options on the island.

Best fish we had on sanibel. Staff were trained in gluten free
Did not have many gluten free options. Server was not informed. They did not know if any of the salad dressings were GF so I asked for oil and vinegar on the side and they literally brought me white vinegar. Not the best for someone with celiac or gluten intolerance.
I had the blackened grouper with Caesar salad no croutons-delicious!
I got the mesquite grilled grouper caesar salad without croutons, cheese, or dressing. I asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the side. It came with garlic bread which I asked for on another plate and I gave to my husband. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
This place took some creativity to get through. We went fishing that day and took our catch here for them to cook it. I ordered mine Mesquite Grilled and I did not have any gluten problems. For my side item, I order a dry salad and took in my own dressing. They were very cooperative and I enjoyed the meal. Just remember to order your fish Mesquite Grilled!
Yes
We were not impressed. I let the waitress know that I have to have gluten free. I ordered the grilled grouper with a salad. When my plate came it had a grouper sandwich and a salad with croutons. The waitress recognized the problem right away. Unfortunately, when my meal came back my family was finished eating. The salad had to be cut up. There wasn't anything on it but onions and tomatoes, and the tomatoes were not ripe. That said, the grouper was very tasty. The restaurant wanted to give me a free dessert, but they did not have one that was gf. :( They brought it for my family instead, which they loved. However, I left felling like an outcast.
Although they don't have a GF menu, they do have things that can be prepared GF. I have had raw oysters on the half shell & a Caesar salad with mesquite grilled grouper (minus the croutons & the garlic bread) twice in the past year with no issues. The server wrote my order up separately, sent it back to the kitchen with an "I need to be GF" card that I have & then spoke to the chef directly about it being GF. I then spoke to the chef myself to make sure that he understood how I needed my food prepared. Everyone was great & very helpful about making sure my food was prepared correctly without being cc.
