Normally, the brand Le Pain Quotidien sells gluten-free bread, but when I wanted to buy it here in Lange Kievitstraat Antwerp, at 9am, it turned out to be sold out. When I asked if I could eat at their restaurant, they answered: it will be difficult to eat here if you are gluten intolerant. When I asked if I could eat soup or scrambled eggs without bread (cross-contamination is not a big problem for me), I got the reply: we cannot guarantee that is gluten-free. When I asked what ingredients their soup and scrambled eggs contain, they would not give me the ingredients, I got the same answer: we cannot guarantee that is gluten-free. All questions about gluten and ingredients are blocked with that same answer. In Le Pain Quotidien Leuven it is possible to eat if you have a gluten intolerance, but be careful if cross contamination is a problem, other types of bread are served and sold.
