This was our first time to any Legal Seafood, and we selected it while traveling in Boston specifically because of its celiac-friendly reputation. We. Were. Not. Disappointed. Everything, from our waiter’s well-versed understanding of our gluten-free concerns, which immediately put us at ease, and the number of gluten free options on the menu (literally ALL of the fried fish is gluten free, plus there were many other choices available), to the quality of the food, were AMAZING! The regular non-gluten-free New England clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had (so your non-celiac dining companions should def try it) and my husband’s brothy gluten-free light chowder was delicious, as well. Grilled shrimp with jalapeño polenta and kale salad, fried calamari with hot peppers, and fried whole belly clams were excellent. They even brought gluten free dinner rolls. The best part was how comfortable we felt knowing they truly understood my husband’s dietary needs so we were completely relaxed, which is rare for a celiac dining out. Only downside? Ice cream was the only gluten-free dessert on the menu. Not complaining, though. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!
