On Friday’s Lento’s has a dedicated fryer and they offer gluten free fish fries! Absolutely delicious! They have several gf options and are very accommodating and knowledgeable. Their gf menu b is well marked and indicates if an item would be in a shared fryer (they only have a dedicated fryer on Friday nights). They also have several gluten-free dessert options! Including Por de creme, and crème brûlée, and a flourless tort!!
I was pretty scared to eat here after the last review saying all the items were likely cross contaminated. My mom wanted to visit while in town so I called a few days in advance. The person who answered seemed confident the gluten free fish fry on Fridays was safe with a dedicated fryer and safety precautions for those with allergies/celiac/severe sensitivity.
We arrived Friday right after they opened, had an absolutely lovely waiter, delicious drinks, and great food with no reactions!! I will definitely be back.
While the food tastes excellent, our server let us know that NONE of the items marked gluten free would be safe for celiacs. They make their own bread and pasta and “the entire kitchen has flour flying around”. We only learned this on our second visit so unfortunately, I was very sick after our visit (but misattributed it to the ice cream we ate after dinner) and then watched everyone else in our party eat on our second trip. My husband, who is not as sensitive, said the food tastes excellent. think they have a dedicated Gf fryer on Friday’s but not the rest of the week.
They just started a celiac friendly, gluten-free fish fry. Gluten-free batter, separate fryer. It was so good. The best fish fry I have ever had gluten-free.
I loved Lento before I was diagnosed and was very happy to see they have many gluten free options on my last visit. I had halibut with lobster risotto. We got duck fat fries too. Everything was delicious. I let the server know I have celiac disease and he brought out the gluten free menu which was a regular menu marked with pen which items were gluten free or what to omit to make a dish gluten free.
