Lil' Empire Burgers - Bridgeland

My fiancé LOVES smashburgers and they make great regular smash burgers. We go there occasionally and while their fries are always perfection, the last few times their GF bun has been dry, crumbly and stale. It’s so nice to have an GF option, but as this style of burger depends so much on the bun, it’s gotten to the point where the bun is so bad that I’m not sure I’ll be going back. I hope they find a new bun, because it wasn’t always this way.

Food is absolutely delicious. I found the gluten free bun to be a bit large compared to the burger in the past so this past time I opted for a lettuce wrap which was great. The fries are amazing and made in a dedicated fryer.

Not safe for Celiacs. I watched them make the burger, touching all the food, gluten buns, and then touch the gluten free bun. They don’t wear gloves and just wipe hands on their contaminated dishcloths. I gambled and ate the burger and got sick. This is after a long conversation with the staff on till. Didn’t make a difference. Not to mention a normal burger with a GF bun is 15.00. And is more like a cheaper fast food style burger.

We had a great experience here! They had GF buns for the burgers and a dedicated fryer for their fries. It was delicious!

I go here often at off-peak hours. The order desk person is always courteous and thorough with my gluten free requests and questions. My favourite order is the lil empire burger with cheese (on a GF bun) or the chili dog (on a GF bun)!
