My favorite restaurant on planet earth. Have been coming here for years, and it truly is my favorite meal ever. Obsessed with the pork fried dumplings and all of the specialty rolls. They have a completely separate gluten free menu, GF soy sauce, and a safe pan for frying things like the dumplings. The staff is very reassuring and does a great job communicating with those preparing the food.
Had dinner before a Broadway show. The General Tso was very good enough savory, sweet and spice. Haven’t had any for 12 years. We also had a chili shrimp dish but it was too sweet. Pork dumplings were good but a little to doughy. We had them pan fried not steamed. Maybe they are better that way. Easy ordering from the GF menu.
Changed safety to 4 stars because it is not a dedicated kitchen.
Great fried rice! I’m not celiac, but my friend who ate there was
The food was amazing! They have a full gluten free menu with many options. Highly recommend as I will be back!
Super good food !!! I got BBQ spare ribs & shrimp lo mein, both gluten free (and corn-free!). They attend to your allergies and sensitivity super well; they had someone come out to talk to me before I placed my order, which made me feel very confident and comfortable ordering and eating. Small restaurant but very comfortable !! (*≧∀≦*) Unfortunately for the people walking behind me on the sidewalk, there is only one restroom :c
Wow! I was so excited to have GF Chinese food again! I got the potstickers as a starter. The portion size was big but unfortunately I didn’t think these were great. They were really mushy and fell apart as soon as I tried to pick them up. I would not get these again.
I also had the General Tso’s, which was amazing!!!! The chicken was nice and crispy, it was a huge portion, and the sauce was tasty. I wish it had a bit more spice to it but that is my only complaint with this dish.
My BF got the sushi combo, and he said it was just meh. He wouldn’t come back here for that.
The service seemed slow and the waiters weren’t super attentive or welcoming, but they weren’t rude either. The food came out at all different times as well. I would come back just for the General Tso’s but I think I would have a hard time convincing my non-GF BF that it would be worth a re-visit.
I ordered these guys takeout and it was really good and didn't get sick AT ALL, no cc, no nothing. I ordered the tangerine beef and lemonade. The lemonade was great too. I plan to order from here every day until the end of time.
Lo mein noodle, tempura. I called them to ask about their fryer and they said the four most beautiful words in the English language: dedicated gluten free fryer.
Have at it kids.
Absolutely the best Chinese food that I have had. They have an entire gluten free menu that is easy to read. They offer various food and it is so good that you will think that it until gluten free. The staff are also very nice. I picked up my order and everything that was gluten free was labeled. If you want good Chinese food, but cannot eat gluten, come here. You will not be disappointed.
My whole family are celiacs, when visiting NYC my daughter suggested we try Lilli & Loo and were thrilled!! Super clean, super fast, dedicated gf menu, we had zero reactions. We ordered Thai crispy spring rolls, dumplings, crispy shrimp sushi roll, veggie Lo mein and Mongolian beef (we shared everything).
Great GF options in separate menu lists. Lovely bright and relaxing venue. A Chelsea branch is in the works.
We had:
—gf spring rolls (the best thing we ordered, but I wish I had brought some kind of tamari and mustard sauce with me because the sauce they served was too sweet)
—gf steamed dumplings (thick & mushy wrapper, boring meat filling)
—guo-tie/ gyoza sautéed dumpling (thick wrapper tasted better fried, same boring filling)
—both with gluten-free soy sauce; we asked for hot sauce (La jiao) and got it
— broccoli, snow peas and string beans, served with a sweet brown - red sauce. The vegetables themselves were good, but the sauce was subpar.
Tip: when we got the lunch menu, we were surprised that the dumplings were not on it. The waitress brought us an additional menu that has a much deeper selection of things. So, ask for the additional menu.
It’s really hard to make gluten-free Chinese food. We do so at home, but cannot make good spring rolls or dumplings ourselves. If you’re in the neighborhood, eat here. Feel Good brand of frozen spring rolls and dumplings does better than this, but it’s still lacking. It’s not worth a trip from other neighborhoods.
Hands down the best gluten free Chinese food. Full menu including lo mein, dumplings, and sushi. The food tastes so good and so real.
I’ve been here twice now because finding delicious gluten free Chinese food is rare! Lilli and loo is amazing and delicious even for non gf groups! Have never felt sick and I always have an amazing night here. I recommend this place to genuinely enjoy everyone. I can’t remember the last time I had a gf dumpling, gf sesame chicken, gf lo mein, etc. The variety is amazing and so is the taste. I also feel safe eating here.
This establishment is undoubtedly a hidden gem in New York City for gluten-free dining. With a dedicated gluten-free menu, exceptional service, and delectable Asian dishes, it has become a consistent favorite of ours. The remarkable quality and thoughtful attention to dietary needs keep us coming back time and time again.
Visited here on a quick trip, and it might have been the best food I ate the whole trip! The gluten free menu has many options, including some I haven’t been able to eat since going gluten free. The brown sauce on the beef and broccoli was thick and rich and like I remembered pre-restrictions. And the crispy general tso’s chicken even my non-GF hubby he wouldn’t have known it was different it was so good. This is a must try spot!!
Wow! As someone who grew up eating New York Chinese food, this food tasted exactly how I remembered! They have GF lo mein and sesame chicken, neither of which I’ve seen GF before. My spouse ordered a beer and our server was kind enough to confirm that he wanted it even though it’s not GF. Definitely recommend visiting this spot when you’re in town!
