Lovely lunch at this celiac friendly Asian spot. Separate GF menu with separate food prep area. GF Thai fried rice was tasty and our non-GF eaters enjoyed a great meal, too. Good service, good location and pleasant environment. Will be back again.
With a dedicated gluten free menu, I never get sick and I eat here all the time! Food is awesome!
Such a treat to be traveling through the city and stumble upon this place. Haven't had a dumpling in 2+ years, and wow were they awesome. Also had shrimp tempura and general tsos chicken. A++.
GF dumplings!! They are close enough to being like the regular dumplings you would get from Chinese take-out. They're GF food is delicious.
Great gf menu with so many options!
Best GF Chinese food we have ever had. Has outstanding fried rice, spring rolls and spicy tuna/salmon maki. Very good at labeling GF food for home delivery.
Awesome GF Japanese restaurant. Service was great and very knowledgeable of cross contamination. It was so yummy to have GF Japanese, so hard to find! The GF spring rolls were my favorite! Great NYC restaurant atmosphere too. Did not get sick! :) Only complaint was drinks were over priced and not great, would stick to bottled drinks or wine. Will definitely return on my next visit!
Every time I eat here, I order a GF meal to go too! I am a very sensitive Celiac and I can't find GF Chinese in Queens. So, Lilli and Loo is the perfect place for satisfying that Chinese food craving (SAFELY!).
Wow. What a great place. Only place we've ever been able to find GF Chinese food. They were very friendly and super knowledgeable about GF issues. Had general saos chicken and it was best we've ever had any where. If you're looking for GF Chinese or sushi in NYC this is the place.
Delicious and really good with gluten free. We had sashimi, sushi roll, house fried rice, massaman curry and whole crispy fish. Everything was awesome and no one in the family got glutened. Even the picky kids liked everything! Highly recommend!
I can actually eat sushi or Chinese and not get sick. I ate here twice and never got sick. The food was wonderful.
Always a stop I make in NYC - such a treat to have crispy sesame and tempura and other treats, and at a reasonable price! Always in and out quickly. Only downside is no lunch specials for GF. But as a sensitive Celiac who travels often to NYC for work, the last thing on my mind is a couple of extra bucks for Celiac safety. Also love Lily's 57 (sister store with similar menu) but Lilli & Loo has a better overall atmospheres.
My son and I both are Celiac (he has EOE as well and can't have dairy or egg either).... we order from here at least 2x per month and we've never gotten sick! We drive from Brooklyn just to get take out and they even run it out to our car if we are driving in solo (and we pay by CC ahead of time via phone). Be sure to ask for GF soy sauce to go on the side (if you don't ask, they don't put it in the bag). My son gets the chicken satay app size (perfect for a kid) with a side of white rice (all safe for him). I love this place!!
The pad Thai can be made gluten free. It's a large portion and very tasty.
First of all I'd like to say I just made an account exclusively to rate this restaurant. It was that amazing! I have a number of food allergies including gluten so when I found out there was a Chinese restaurant that could cater to my needs I was beyond thrilled. I ordered the gluten free steamed dumplings and mu shu chicken which were out of this world!! And unlike other restaurants that say they serve gluten free I had ZERO negative effects from contamination. I was in absolute heaven! Will definitely come back here next time I am in the city! Incredible!
Excellent sesame chicken and spring rolls. Great service.
Extensive GF menu. This is the only restaurant in the country that offers GF potstickers.
My go-to GF Asian restaurant. I've only ordered takeout from here (and many, MANY times without issue). Read a few comments about poor service. I'd take shitty service over getting sick any day. I like ordering online because you can make note about the food needing to being celiac safe. The receipt says GF & each container of food will have a GF sticker. It's a nice cross-check. Separate GF menu. The sushi is great, the dumplings + spring rolls are yummy and the pad Thai + General Tso chicken = delicious!
The best gf Chinese/Asian I've found in NYC
Loved eating chinese! Had spring rolls. Dumplings, shrimp tempura roll & Generals Chicken. Loved everything! Highly sensitive- did fine
Great Pad Thai- very thorough in GF prep
Didn't make me sick but the gluten free spring rolls and dumplings were undercooked and made with very thick dough. The pad Thai was bland as was the fried rice.
Great service and delicious food. I am a highly sensitive celiac and ate here without problem! They have a separate GF menu with more options than most places have. Definitely recommend! I shared pad thai, rock shrimp, spring rolls, and chicken lettuce wraps. All were so delicious!
Service isn't great but food was good with plenty of GF options.
A multi page gluten free menu - what more could you ask for? Shrimp fried rice is great and portion is large. So nice to have so many options!
Horrible service do not go here! Discriminatory against people with gluten intolerance. Would not honor weekend lunch specials for gluten free even after telling them it's discrimination. Walked out at left. Sought this place out after eating her before
Went for the first time about a month and was thrilled! Now whenever I'm in the city I always make sure to have some of the AMAZING gf sesame chicken
Love this place. Extensive GF menu. Food is excellent.
Extensive GF menu and reasonable prices. They even have GF pork dumplings. I will return.
Amazing meal! Found my new favorite Asian restaurant. Many entrees to choose from, dedicated kitchen space, reasonable prices. Perfect.
Absolutely amazing!!!! 5 stars is simply not enough, the gluten free menu is outstanding and food is affordable which is a nice luxury for us coeliacs :)
Excellent gluten free menu. Never gotten sick from eating here. Delicious. Best GF blueberry pound cake ever!
Great food, helpful staff, portions are FAMILY STYLE!! They're HUGE! Nice selection and dedicated menu!
GF menu, large portions, delicious food! Read more: http://glutenfreecarolinagirl.com/2014/11/06/gluten-free-at-lilis-57-gluten-free-at-lilli-loo/
So yummy! I haven't had dumplings or tempura since I was diagnosed! What a treat! I have to move to New York!!!
I eat here every time I go to NYC. The dumplings are a must to start out with. I ate the spicy tangerine beef the last time I was here and it was fantastic. The staff is aware of ingredients in the dishes and can recommend safe foods.
They have sushi and rock shrimp and dumplings. Food taste great
Great service and great gluten free food. They have a separate menu lots of choices.
Amazing, it is one of my favorite gluten free restraunts in the world. Good food and service, everything is amazing about it!
They have a huge gluten free menu! Looking for gluten free Chinese? Don't go to China town- try out Lilli and Loo! Soooooo yummy!!!
Excellent food, for the price range. Has a dedicated gluten free menu. Kid friendly. Live music from time to time.
This was pretty good eat-in restaurant. Food was decent, service was okay. We went for lunch. It's not worth going across town for (we did) but a good option if you're nearby.
I have Celiac and do not trust restaurant that serve non gluten free food. However, I was there for the weekend and decided to try it. They have many gluten free options and I did not get sick. I took food home and ate it the next day and do not get sick. I recommend this place to celiacs.
Amazing food!!! So many GF options and insanely delicious !
Awesome gluten free options! I highly recommend this restaurant, the food is so good you can't even tell its gluten free!
I ate here a few times and was so excited about all the gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the last time, I got very sick in the restaurant almost immediately. I do not trust their kitchen practices for celiacs.
Excellent gluten free menu. Many options that are not usually available to those who do not eat gluten.
I love Lili's 57, and really wanted to love Lilli and Loo to have a similar menu with better atmosphere to bring friends and family... but they just didn't take my allergy seriously. My date and I both ordered a GF entree so we could share. When they dropped it off, I asked to make sure it was GF. The server said "no" then I said "but we ordered them to be GF. I'll get very sick if I eat gluten", he responded, "oh. Ok. then yes. It's gluten free then." I asked him to please double check with the kitchen, and with a huff he did so, came back and without a word swiped our plates away. Some time later they came back out, he pointed at my plate and said "Gluten free. Ok?" and I said, "both, right?". "No just yours. You are gluten free. not his." then walked away. We waited a few minutes and finally gave up and decided not to share. Turns out my date's meal hadn't even been kept warm, and had been sitting on a counter cooling for 15 minutes with they remade mine. Terrible service.
Fantastic gf food including dumplings.
