we ate here with my daughter who is celiac. We had a great meal. They have a gluten free menu and the waiter Danil was very knowledgeable. They had a GF crème brule for dessert that was quite good.

The Local Goat does an amazing job with all allergies, but especially gluten and wheat. They have a fairly big gluten free menu with a good amount of variety. The menu in the review pictures on here has not been updated in a while, and I meant to take a picture of it, but forgot. Whoops! But on their website, the gluten sensitive menu is up to date, so take a look at that! For an appetizer, we had the N'awlins Style BBQ Shrimp with bread on the side (for other members of my party to enjoy), and our waitress Mary M. was super nice and accommodating, and she brought a gluten free bun (soft and warm) so I could dip it into the sauce I separated from the rest as well! For my entree, I had the bacon cheeseburger on a gluten free bun with a loaded baked potato. It was all very delicious, and I had no reaction! One of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge in general and allergy wise! Definitely recommend and definitely going back asap!

I had the Smokehouse burger and broccoli. So good! The bun was Udi. My goodness! The fries are cross-contaminated but I usually don't react to that. And they were yummy! I wanted the bison burger but it has a binder in it so it wasn't safe. 😔 But the burger did not disappoint. Definitely a scratch kitchen and the food was great! Oh, and avoid the mashed potatoes, they weren't very good. Gluten eaters had the teriyaki kebob, teriyaki chicken sandwich and alfredo pasta, they all recommended those! This is a great find!

The food was amazing, the staff was super helpful answering all my mom’s question about the precautions they take to ensure her meal was gluten free to the best of their ability. My mom’s stomach didn’t hurt at all and she is very sensitive to even the smallest bit of cross contamination. Highly recommend this place!

Had a wonderful burger! Host provided a GF menu and server was kind and noted “allergy” precautions to my order. My order was brought out with a allergy toothpick. The fryer was reported to not be Celiac safe so I had broccoli. I am very sensitive and had no ill effects. Would return!

My partner was served a breaded onion ring in his burger that was on a gluten free bun, even after the server acknowledged his request for gf and related by saying his mom is celiac. They took it back and remade him a new one but it did interrupt our meal.

I love to travel and this is my second restaurant in Tennessee. At first I thought they didn’t have much because nothing was marked on their menu, but it turned out they had their own menu. Before I got my food they even informed me that the kitchen messed up. The manager brought out the food to assure my safety. Overall the food was amazing and I definitely recommend!

Pros: Good service, a lot of food made in house, good vibes. Very much appreciate the effort with the GF menu.
Cons: Just ok food, long wait, cold dining room, and bar smell that permeated entire entry way.

We were so pleasantly surprised at this restaurant! We probably had the best burger we’ve had in 5 years. It was so juicy, perfectly cooked, and the thick crispy bacon made it that much better. You can’t eat their French fries because of a shared fryer, but we opted for the carmelized onion mashed potatoes instead, which were also delicious. Our server told us they take gluten allergies seriously in the kitchen, so that also made us more comfortable. It’s hard to find restaurants that cater to GF people in this area, so this little gem was very welcome on our trip!

Absolutely delicious! I was bummed that their steak was not gluten free but I got the ribs and they were super flavorful and a big portion. We got the New Orleans shrimp for a starter and it was super yummy! Could have eaten a million of those 🤣 sweet potatoes and Cole slaw were the sides and they were good too! Love that they source local food when they can. Service was absolutely excellent, our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable!

Food was amazing. Really. Gluten free options are available, but be careful to make sure your server knows. Our server, although unsure, was willing to double check. She said the fries are cooked in a dedicated fried, but also mentioned it wasn’t that way. The Stuffed Piquillo Peppers appetizer was so good. Burgers and ribs were delicious. My buddy had the meatloaf. Said it was good, but is not GF.

The one that we went to in Pigeon Forge only offered salad as a gluten free meal! Since I can’t eat lettuce I had to get one piece of salmon for dinner. It was good , but very disappointing since others said they had many gluten free options

GF specific menu, but our cheeseburger came out with fries on the plate after our server informed us that fried were not GF. We sent it back (deliverer was not our server) and our server came back 5-7 minutes later with a new plate and sandwich. Not sure that they didn’t just move the sandwich to a new plate….but otherwise was a good experience and GF items well-marked.

This is actually genuinely bad. Yes they have a gluten free menu but not a lot of options. They messed up 2/4 of the meals and the flavor was incredibly underwhelming or overpowering, no in between, and the buns fell apart very quickly. Nice people, okay establishment. But the food is not worth the price. So many glowing reviews on here but I just don’t get it, skip out on local goat. I never leave bad reviews either this just isn’t a good GF choice

My family had a great dinner here! I had the flame grilled salmon with broccoli and onion mashed potatoes and it was delicious. My husband raved about his Hawaiian ribeye and the beer and my son enjoyed his hot dog! I’ll update later if I experience any reaction, but so far so good!

The people in my party who were not GF loved the food. I ordered a burger and the bun fell apart within the first few bites. I substituted sweet potato’s for fries and those were good. Overall it was a quick meal in a pinch. It was way too busy to check on the safety of the prep of the food

Disappointing: everything I can usually count on at a tavern-style restaurant was not gluten free. When I asked about certain things, “no” to Steaks, chops, chicken, ribs, even shrimp and grits …. not gluten free. Apparently they use soy sauce in everything. Basically you can have a salad, an entree of salmon or grilled shrimp, or some of the burgers. Kudos: at least they are knowledgeable enough to know that most soy sauces contain wheat.

I went in with high hopes and wasn’t disappointed. I had a great tasting Bacon Blue cheese burger( - crispy onions), mashed potato’s and I ordered the New Orleans shrimp without the bread. I originally posted 2019. I love this place for regular food but for GF. They do not have a dedicated fryer. The server said the fryer is dedicated when they blanch the fries in the am but then they put other stuff in it. Facepalm. Added 8/16/21 So we tried it again and her burger came out with a regular bun covered in fries.

We were excited to eat here on vacation due to so many recommendations. There is a separate gluten free menu that is a little limited to seafood and burgers with gluten free buns. I ordered the grilled salmon with a salad and the caramelized onion mashed potatoes. Dinner was good, but didn’t wow us. I ordered the creme brûlée for dessert that on the menu said served with seasonal berries. It came with one half of a strawberry. The sugar crust had a burnt taste. It was disappointing since many places don’t offer much in the dessert options.

DO NOT GO HERE!! We walked in, went up to the counter, and said we have two people. Our host got the menus and we asked if there was a gluten free menu. He said “We do not do gluten free, we do gluten sensitive. If you have celiac go somewhere else.” We just walked out. Rude.

My family and I made reservations - we were given the GF menu but I noticed on the main menu that they offered Shrimp and Grits so decided to ask why that would not be considered GF - there is a bacon jelly that has added flour. I asked if that could be taken off and the server knew it could. She talked to the kitchen and they were able to accommodate. I can’t even tell you how amazing it was. Also, our server was very knowledgeable a d made it a point to let us know that she had spoken directly to the kitchen regarding our order so we would be safe. Everyone enjoyed (4 out of 6 of us are GF) and no one got sick. Definitely ask to have the Shrimp and Grits made GF.
