Not a ton of their menu is gluten free, but they have some breakfast items and an assortment of bowls that are gf. The person I talked to about celiac disease immediately knew what I was talking about, and assured me the items were celiac safe (he said he was the head chef and had celiac himself). I didn't get tons of info on exactly what they do to prevent cc but the person was confident and my bowl came out with foil under it, which I imagine was related. The curry chickpea bowl was really quite excellent, and the root bowl was great too.

My husband and I stopped at Looney Bean for some coffee while road-tripping across California. I was surprised to find that they had multiple gluten-free brunch options listed on their menu. I ordered a chorizo based bowl with scrambled eggs and veggies. The barista was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity. The latte and scramble bowl were both delicious! I look forward to going back!
