I stopped here on my way home from DC for a carry-out pizza. Parking was easy (HUGE plus 10 minutes from downtown DC) and the service was good. The crust was good for gf and the pizza was really good just in general. I don't know if they take any cross-contamination measures as thankfully that's not something I have to worry about too much. I'd definitely come back here again for a pizza!
The food was good, when it finally came, but we literally sat there for 45 minutes waiting. Then when my pizza arrived it wasn’t what I’d ordered. I had to get it to go because we had someplace to be. I wouldn’t go back. (The other branch of Lost Dog has much better service and a wide range of options.)
This is a review of the pizza. I have been gf for 10yrs now and am always on the hunt for a decent go-to pizza. The Lost Dog Cafe is right around the corner from me and I was delighted to learn they donate to the lost dog and cat foundation (a great organization). However after paying $20 for my individual size pizza I couldn't have been more disappointed. The toppings are very generous but the crust is just awful. It's somehow a cross between a sponge and crumb cake, a crumbly sponge. Assuming that the crust isn't made in-house, I can only hope they will decide to change their gf provider to something more edible. The only thing that even made the pizza edible was the mountain of toppings they provided. Naked pizza is around the same price and at least the crust stays together and is the right combination of crispy and chewy.
The service was great and the cause they donate to is definitely worthy, but at the end of the day I would have rather donated $20 directly to the foundation itself. Sorry all you hopefuls but if you think this pizza is good I shudder to think what you have been forcing down gf-wise.
My GF pizza was pretty good! On the other hand, my non GF family said the regular pizza wasn't anything special.
