Amazing gluten free menu. Eating gf you can often feel let down by limited or poor menu options compared to a normal menu. The gf menu is so similar to the regular one it made me feel so excited and spoiled for choice. Advised to order at bar to discuss my “allergy” although when I did they knew exactly what ceoliac was and although they called it an allergy took it very seriously. Bar staff explained that the food is all cooked separately from anything containing gluten but did ask me to read their little disclosure of not being able to 100% guarantee no contamination. I wasn’t worried about that though I know it’s just policy and they are clearly doing everything they can to avoid contamination. I asked if the hot choc was gf and the man checked it over with me which was very reassuring. On top of this the breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had! Great experience.
Visited here as it was on the app, I asked for a GF menu and I was impressed how much choice there was, reasonably priced, on the opposite side of GF menu there is a Vegan menu. Service was good and they put a little flag on my meal, the staff said read the allergens section as its not 100% guaranteed , but I was happy to try it, I had no problems at all after eating there, I had the lounge breakfast, it was really good, I would definitely eat there again when I'm next in Liverpool.
SO delicious!! Loved how safe it was too. Separate GF menu. So many options. We loved the halloumi fries (similar to America fried mozzarella sticks). I’ve missed breaded fried cheese, so this was a treat. Excellent breaded chicken sandwich with a delicious bun. Dedicated fryer. Didn’t have any reaction to the food.
Brilliant service. Huge selection of GF options. They were very clear on asking if it was an allergy or an intolerance and as it was an allergy they needed us to order those meals first so the kitchen could prepare the area to cook those meals first. Meals all came at the same time, clearly labelled and fresh and piping hot. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Definitely recommend if you're around the Albert Dock area!
Found this place through google and this app.
With the reviews I was excited to try it out but I left feeling extremely unwell.
They did tell me that there can be cross contamination and which I understand. But I felt extremely sick.
The service also wasn’t great, from all of the places I visited this was the worst.
My friends also had food here , non gf and weren’t happy.
My friend was charged twice for her food and when she mentioned it to staff they weren’t helpful.
Friendly and quick service. Immediately when I got seated they asked about allergies and gave me a gluten-free menu. I ordered the gluten-free halloumi burger, and I think it’s the best gluten-free burger I’ve ever had! They have 2 gluten-free beers too.
They made sure to inform me that cross contamination could happen. I don’t have celiac disease, I’m allergic/highly sensitive to gluten and I didn’t react badly to the food.
I've ate here many times and continue to go regularly. I've probably ate here at least 100 times at the point and only once was a mistake made (they accidentally brought the wrong thing to me) which a staff member quickly bolted up the stairs to check I hadn't ate it as it wasn't safe.
If you are coeliac, like myself, you need to order at the bar to tell them it needs to be treated like an allergy and I always use the allergen matrix on the website to confirm what I can order as the gluten free menu (printed on paper) includes stuff that has 'may contains' but is only visible via the allergen matrix. Once a manager had took your order, they then go and inform the kitchen staff directly and the food will come out with a gf flag (purple) and an allergy flag (red) or allergy sticker.
Separate GF menu. Ordered food at the bar (great idea as you decide when you're ready to order) - was asked if any allergies. Everything ordered was entered very carefully and food had red flags to confirm it was gf. Great choice and really nice food. Had 3 tapas dishes (lamb kofte, beef brisket chilli, maple syrup bar-b-que chicken wings); chicken, bacon and avocado salad bowl, and a side of fries between 2 of us - plenty of food! Very reasonable prices (£29.80 for the food). Good service too.
Food was very tasty. I wait a few days to write reviews incase I get any symptoms, happily I didn’t here. I’m also vegetarian so it’s great to find a place that caters for me. I’ve been to my local Lounges so felt safe going to a different one and I was right. Food arrived quickly and with allergy flags on my burger so I felt reassured. Staff were friendly and efficient and handled our booking well. Just be aware that some gluten free desserts are ‘may contains’.
