We frequent Lucky Bones regularly. I always order off of their GF menu, stressing each time I have celiac. The last time we ate there I ordered the daily pasta special GF. Unfortunately, I got sick & am not sure whether it was the sauce or the pasta. Going forward I will stick with broiled options & salad.

Went here for dinner 6/24/22. Yes they have gf menu. However, ordered crab & shrimp cake and though it was good, was very small for the expensive price. Husband also got a fish and chips and gave him two pieces of fish, and again, very pricey menu for small quantities. Wouldn’t visit again.

Kept reassuring me that everything was safe and there was no cross contamination. Ended up getting really, really sick.

Burger was extremely small and gave us stale expired chips. At first they said fries were gluten free and then said they weren’t.

Highly recommend this restaurant - they are fully aware of gluten free and understand celiac. Gluten free foods come out on an orange plate. Absolutely delicious with great wait staff too !!

Separate gluten-free menu and knowledgable staff. I ordered the gluten-free crab and shrimp cake which was unfortunately undercooked and mushy. Gluten-free bun was tasteless.

Lots of options. There is a disclaimer in the GF menu about possible cross contamination (which I appreciate). Enjoyed clams and a salad with salmon. No reaction. Amazing waitress. I will definitely go back.

The staff here are very well informed about celiac disease and the problems that go along with it. My gf was very happy with their gluten free menu. She had a pulled pork sandwich and French onion soup. She was surprised that she liked the gluten free roll and was fine without bread in the soup and the soup was very good. All gluten free meals are served on flowered or orange platters. It's on our list, very short list, of places celiac friendly with good food.

My favorite place. I’ve been here many times and never had a problem. They are very aware of CC. I enjoy their gf pizza, crab cake, gf pasta with seafood on top and of course the chocolate decant cake!

The staff was knowledgeable and took precautions. They have a separate GF menu. My son’s food came out on orange play, which is how they designate GF.

The staff seemed knowledgeable, and Lucky Bones has a separate gf menu. Our server was able to answer my questions. My daughter and I are gf due to celiac. She had French onion soup with the pork chop dinner, and I had Crab Cakes (which I had the night before too at Fins, but I am just so thrilled to be able to eat crab cakes after 3 years!). My crab cakes came with polenta and green beans—it was all delicious. We both still feel well after eating!

We took my celiac daughter for their take out and sat out back by the bay. The staff who took our order double checked that it was an “allergy” (celiac) not a preference, and seemed to be knowledgeable about cross contamination.

Great place for Gluten Free! I’m very sensitive to gluten, and I had their crab & shrimp cake with polenta. Delicious! No reaction. Nice outdoor atmosphere at sunset too.

Separate prep space and pizza oven!! All gfree pizza prep is totally dedicated for gfree and no cross contamination problems.
Many many gfree items on the menu. Highly recommend the pizzas. Separate station for prep and separate oven for baking. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination and I was okay. (I have celiacs)
Outdoor seating was great. Right by a boat access so you can watch boats being loaded and unloaded. The beer/alcohol truck parked there was great. They have Tito’s vodka as well.

OMG! That is all I can say about finding a GF crab cake sandwich! A perfect ending to an awesome beach day! And in case you are wondering, they have tables set up outside and make it easy to distance.
Lucky Bones was always a favorite. Once my daughter was diagnosed with Celiac it became our go to always! Servers are so knowledgeable about Celiac and make the dining experience a breeze, no stress if she’ll get sick and no cross contamination. Everything is separated! Love it!!
Very friendly and many gluten free options. They are flexible and made us a simple grilled cheese sandwich on a gluten free bun.
The pulled pork sandwich was awesome, it was huge and delicious The bun tasted like REAL bread. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. When my husband mentioned it was my birthday, my gluten free brownie included a candle. They even had Dogfish Head Tweason'ale. YUM.
We have been back to Lucky Bones several times and I think this will be our last visit. Each meal seemed to be worse than the one before. The pizza I had was barely warm. My husband’s fish and chips (he is not gf) was so greasy it was barely edible. Our waitress was very pleasant but it was not a good day for her. She had to come back to our table to retake our order. She had forgotten to put it in and did not write it down. I’m sorry this restaurant is not what it once was.
They door have a large GF menu - available at the hostess stand. When the rest of the table was served bread and olive oil, I asked if there was GF bread. The reply was that it would be served at additional cost. I found that odd, and didn’t get it. I was thrilled to see a GF crab cake, but not quite as thrilled to eat it. It was just OK, and very small, even as an appetizer. Bit, it was a rare GF crab cake. The Bacon wrapped BBQ Shrimp appetizer was HUGE. it didn’t look all that great, but it tasted very good. I have silent celiac, so I can’t judge if food is truly safe.
They have a gluten free menu but contamination is not guaranteed. I had the pasta and had a bad reaction.
No
We had mac n cheese, crab cakes, pizza and salad. So full!!! Getting food on the orange plate means it was made gluten free
Yes
Good food but was definitely cross contaminated
No
Huge gf pink menu, lots of apps & dinners, couldn't guarantee fries, but gf pizza came out on pink plate, good tasty. Nice small tavern. Going back

Best gluten feee menu I’ve seen in the jersey shore area! Excellent menu and wide variety of drinks, apps, main course AND dessert! Been there many times and have never been disappointed. Go.. you’ll love it, celiac or vegetarian or regular menu.
The GF menus are a different color from the regular ones, which was a fantastic start! On the menu they make it clear that they do everything they can to prevent CC but also mention that the pizza doughs are cooked here daily, which increases the risk. Before our food came out, the server brought me a GF roll with dipping oil - it’s been years since I’ve had that experience and it was great to feel like “part of” the social group. I ordered a grilled chicken BLT after the server helped me determine if I could eat the GF crab cake (I could not, due to dairy), and it was brought out on a red plate with chips to show I was gluten free. The server and this restaurant delivered me an excellent experience. I was safe and not sick! SO impressed! Would definitely return!
Yes
Real gluten-free menu. Ordered two pizzas from GF menu, no issues. Wait staff was knowledgeable & chased down a question for us before ordering.
I have eaten here many of times with no problem. However yesterday after being told the pizza is completely safe and cooked separately I trusted them and was glutened. I am so sick;( The dinners are safe but don’t get the pizza.
Best gf crab cake ever!!! Lots of choices on their separate gluten free menu.
The staff was very confused and you got a different answer depending on who you talked to. This made it very hard to trust anything. The service wasn’t great either. They forgot appetizers and meals. Not the best cape May showing.
Wow! Traveling with celiac can be so difficult and limiting to bland foods....I am so happy we found Lucky Bones! Separate GF menu front to back with options from appetizers to desserts. Food is fresh, seasonal, and most importantly delicious. They are doing is right no doubt.
Yes
Plentiful menu, great service very open about cross contamination. Pizza was fantastic! Great steak, had no issues, Will be back again.
This is my go to spot for dinner !! I am gluten & dairy free and they have a front and back menu for gluten free options ! I love there clam chowder and i LOVE there crab cakes! The side that comes with it has dairy but they substituted for two vegetables and held the butter. They also have a few GF dessert options (monster cookie sandwich with ice cream) but I was so full I got homemade mango sorbet !! Soooo many options and every server i had was very accommodating and knowledgeable !
Great gluten free options, they have a separate gluten free menu that clearly warns of possible cross contamination with certain items. Dessert menu had clearly marked gluten free options as well. Had their gluten free pizza and the daily special of bacon wrapped scallops with zero issues and it tasted great! They even had glutenberg IPA beer and a couple ciders available.
Yes
They had a 2 page menu full of GF options. My 9 yr. old daughter with Celiac got a personal pizza with bacon. They explained how they cooked the pizza on a special pan and it is then taken into the kitchen (not the open pizza kitchen) to cut it with a dedicated slicer. Pizza was great and to our surprise, they charged us for a regular kids meal, no GF up charge. Definitely recommend.
Yes
Wonderful food and atmosphere here. Lots of gf options and HUGE portions! Our server was very knowledgeable and even brought us some gf rolls to enjoy.
Yes
Love this place. I eat here often and I’ve never had a problem. They have a large separate gf menu with appetizers, meals, and desserts. Their pizza is amazing, crab cake, and their gf brownie is absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend you going here if you are in Cape May!!
Yes
Large portion of chicken with barbeque sauce on the side. Many choices on a separate menu. Very good and filling.
I eat here every time I come down to Cape May. They have one of the most extensive gf menus around. Lots of great sandwiches but the pizza choices are fabulous. I have find that if you talk to your server they are very pleasant. There are different rooms with different decors. I often eat at the bar to avoid the wait
We won’t be back. The decor reminds me of an OLD dirty wooden ship’s hull, so if that’s what they are going for, they nailed it. I would hate to see this place in the daylight. Maybe our experience would have been better if we were not sat at THE worst table - literally surrounded by the restrooms and kitchen. They do have a gluten free “menu” but no dedicated fryer and they state the grill is not GF, so kudos (and 1 star) for even knowing to state that. My Celiac daughter ordered the crab cake. It was over seasoned so you couldn’t even taste the crab and had filler in it. MAYBE it was GF breadcrumbs? Before we even finished dinner she was not feeling well and suffered the next day too. The rest of our meal was also mediocre, except the mussels over linguine which made one person need the bathroom the rest of the night.
No
I went to this restaurant very hopeful, as it had very good reviews. When we got there it was busy and the service was bad. They barely talked to us. Not only that but they just brought out a huge plate of gluten bread. I got the crab cake which was alright. My family and boyfriend got gluten options however they said they didn’t taste good. It was expensive and not worth it. Within less than an hour I realized that I got glutened. All I ate was the crab cake. They have a gluten free menu. However, I do not trust it. And I will NOT be going back.
Did not leave hungry, that's for sure! A lot of options for GF, had very good creamy spinach dip (comes with a single bag of veggie chips, IMO not quite enough to enjoy all of the dip with, but my fault for not asking for more!) and baby back ribs with baked potato, yum! Other options include sandwiches, pizza, crab cakes - a rare find! - etc. Will definitely add this spot to our Cape May rotation.

Extensive menu. Steak. Seafood. Chicken. Pork chops. Salad. Pizza. Ribs. Warm sandwiches. Cold sandwiches. Burgers. Ice cream sandwich dessert with monster cookie which tasted homemade.
