I am new to the area and have heard good things about Luna’s so I had to check it out when I moved here. While I’ve been to Luna’s a few times in the last week and have been fine, I ordered a GF crepe last Wednesday for lunch. I got completely cross contamination even though I specified the severity. And unfortunately it made me sick for days. I truly love this bakery and their food is great but after my last experience, I am unsure if I would feel comfortable returning.
We specifically asked if the gluten free crepes would be safe for someone with celiacs and were told yes. Later come to find out that although the batter is gluten free they use the same machines to make the regular and the gf crepes, making them UNsafe for folks with celiacs. The day did not end well…
I went to Luna Bakery to find a GF dessert to take to a dinner with friends. I ended up staying for lunch- the Corn Chowder soup du jour was gluten free and served with GF multigrain toast. Very tasty. Afterwards I ended up buying slices of the Luna Cake- also delicious and GF.
Very easy and pleasant to work with, even relatively last minute! I needed a GF cake for my husband’s birthday. The half Luna cake was absolutely delicious and plenty big for the 5 of us with lots leftover. Was so good it didn’t even taste GF! They also have a layer cake and brownies and cupcakes available.
