A couple friends brought treats to my house for a game day and the gluten eaters enjoyed them as well! The cake was good, the banana bread was excellent, and the cupcakes were my favorite. The strawberry buttercream frosting was so good!
Fantastic experience! No gluten in store, so no cross-contamination. Ordered a custom birthday cake that was also dairy free and the moistness was incredible. Picked up a few other items while there. Our main complaint with most gluten free, dairy free cakes is that they are dry, but we couldn't really tell the difference here. Great job!
FYI, there could be trace amounts of dairy in dairy free products. Not an issue for us, but keep it in mind.
Stopped going there as many celiacs are lactose intolerant and very little dairy free items.
They are great! Only got to go here once while we were traveling through the area but I would go again if I ever get the chance. They have lots of options and you wouldn’t be able to tell that it’s all gluten free. It tastes amazing! My favorite was the cookies and cream cupcake. It’s a must try if you’re in the area!
Update: we went there a second time. It was still good. We got a peanut butter cupcake which was great and the peanut butter brownie was also great. Found out this time that they grind their own flour which is neat. They also apparently recently changed owners. The new owner is in the process of redecorating the place. It did look better decorated this time versus last time we went when it looked very plain. We also found out they have a freezer up front where they put items that are on sale because they are already a day old. Everything in the front display cabinets is fresh made every day. 1 cupcake is about $3.75 I think. But in the freezer we got 3 pack cupcake box for $1.50 because they were 1 day old. Pretty good deal. We got the blueberry brown sugar cupcakes from the freezer. They were ok but not what I was expecting. The cupcake tasted like a regular vanilla cupcake. The frosting although bright blue was also just vanilla tasting. (I took off the blueberries on top only because after purchasing I kept it a few more days before trying it. I didn’t trust the blueberries at that point but that was my fault for keeping it longer.) But for the price even those were good.
This was a great find! We live 2hrs from here but we’re traveling so I searched for bakeries and there she was! We got cookies, cinnamon rolls and coffee cake. All were wonderful! Everything was $3.75. Almost seemed like a bargain! Sure wish we lived closer.
We were in Spooky Nook for a field hockey tournament. Wanted something special for my daughter who is celiac. This place was so warm and inviting. We got a cinnamon roll, chocolate iced donut and a banana PB cupcake. All were incredible. Even the next day the cupcake was still super moist and delicious.
I go there a lot! Great place and tons of options. Get fresh bread and cinnamon rolls early Saturday mornings!
Dedicated gluten free. Limited choices before closing on Saturday.
Love everything from here. They made my beautiful wedding cake and everyone loved it
This bakery is amazing and worth the trip! Everything is GF and they also have items that are vegan too! There were many items that were safe for both of my children who also have some other allergies. FYI, for those with nut allergies....there are only a couple of items with peanut butter icing...and only the macarons use an almond flour blend. Between the freezer with day old items (sold at a big discount) and their fresh baked goods, I ended up getting a sampling of many different treats (donuts whoopie pie, brownies, muffins, cupcakes, etc) for a very reasonable price. Our family's very favorite item was a fudge cake that they were selling by the slice. I hope to special order the cake and some bread (which they were out of) the next time we are in the area for sports at Spooky Nook athletic center. Definitely worth the trip!
A MUST GO! Every single item was great and the best prices I’ve ever seen!
We basically sampled 1/2 of the bakery, and I wanted to highlight my favorite treat… their GF Tandy Cake! It was to die for 😍 We also got a cinnamon roll, coffee cake, blueberry pie bake, cupcake, muffin, apple cake, and a couple other treats! They even had frozen chicken pot pies, pizza shells, and homemade bread loaves. I also saw scones, strudels, and other types of baked goods. We didn’t show up until 12 and the case was still full of goodies! Can’t wait to go back!
What a great little shop! Thanks to all who reviewed previously, making it known to others. Drove 90 minutes to get some gluten free goodies and it was well worth the drive! Sampled the chocolate chip muffin also EF and DF (did not like taste or texture), the black bottom muffin (divine!) the vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting (one of the best I’ve ever had) the root beer cupcake (didn’t like texture, it was kind of chewy and sticky feeling) and the brownie with cinnamon frosting — I was skeptical but this was surprisingly perfect! I don’t like chocolate chips in y brownies so I had to pick them out but the brownie was a perfect texture, the frosting flavor was a perfect accent to the rich brownie, and the frosting was just the right amount and a lovely creamy texture. I could eat that frosting all day! I will definitely be back!!! Variety of GF items, and coffee maybe other beverages too. Some items marked dairy free and egg free. I wasn’t paying attention to all, as I only needed GF. The chocolate coated chocolate cake pops looked amazing! And they were big with sprinkles on top! Next time. 🥳
This place is my absolute favorite place and will forever be my go to for sweets and baked goods. I cannot recommend this place enough. They also offer dairy free and other allergy friendly baked goods. Get there when they open to have the most options. They also do made to order items.
Some sweet friends brought boxes and boxes of treats from this bakery all the way to Fredericksburg, VA. We had lemon poppy seed, shoofly pie, chocolate cream cheese muffins, cupcakes, a loaf of bread, and toffee as well as cinnamon raisin scones. It was such a feast and a joy to taste so many delicious goodies. It was amazing. I felt like the lemon poppy seed had a bit too much baking soda (it had a slight metallic taste) and the cupcake frosting was a bit heavy; however, I would eat it all again! I was especially surprised at how much I enjoyed the shoofly pie muffin and cinnamon raisin scone. The bread was AMAZING. It was my first piece of GF bread ever and it went perfectly with homemade soup. Will definitely visit every time I’m in Mount Joy.
so many different treats and everything is so good! love that they also have vegan options too! I stop here at least once a month and they never disappoint. their cakes are not my favorite, but their lemon bars are AMAZING and they have good pastries!
Absolutely delicious. The food was amazing, the cinnamon bun was delicious, the coconut cream pie was awesome. The tiramisu macarons were stunning. And the everything bagels were the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. 100% worth coming no doubt. COME HERE!!
Wow just wow! Everything we tried was amazing! Staff was so nice! Highly recommend to stop in and stock up if you’re in the area!
This bakery has the most Gluten-free /almond free selections I've seen in the area!! This is the only bakery I ever buy from any more. Everything is not only delicious but also visually appealing. I spoke with the employee about my food allergy concerns and felt very confident in their knowledge.
I grab so much food Sat mornings every time I visit my friend and everything is always so good!
I got a loaf of fresh bread, a vegan lemon poppy muffin, a coconut and lime scone, cheese ravioli, a macaron, an eclair, a pecan bar, and strawberry cheese danishes. They were all ready good, especially the danishes. Only lost a star because of the limited hours and the bread was extremely dense
Delicious! I especially liked the molasses cookies and the gingerbread cupcake!
This is a dedicated gluten-free bakery that also makes some gluten-free vegan items. What they offer varies greatly depending on the day, so it’s always a surprise what will be available. I cannot handle trace gluten, and have never had a problem here. We like to drive down every month or so, and refill the freezer with gluten-free, dairy-free treats.
My non-gluten sensitive husband and I decided to try this place on a nice day when we thought it would be fun to drive back to VA a “long way”. Going here adds about 1-2 hours more to our drive to see family in PA...and we will be doing this route often. This is by far THE BEST exclusively gluten free bakery we have ever visited. We’ve tried a lemon filled pastry, chocolate coffee cake, muffins, and scones and cannot say enough about how awesome this place is!
Love this shop! I have gotten a pecan pie, stuffing mix, various dessert pastries and loved them all. The only thing I ever threw away was a loaf of bread because it was dense and flavorless.
Everything is gluten free. We have ordered several birthday cakes in different flavors and all were delicious! Baked goods are yummy, spectacular cinnamon rolls. Not a fan of the pizza as it is too thick four out taste, but the consistency is great and flavor is very good. Would love to try just the dough so we could make it thinner.
I love this place. I travel just to come here. Their peanut butter brownies are so good. Really friendly. All good baked that morning unless stated otherwise (usually in their fridge). Everything on display is gluten free so you don’t have to worry about something looking good that you can’t eat.
What a cute little bakery. Puts a selection of desserts and bakery items out every day and what doesnt sell goes in freezer for next day sales. Haven't tried my yummy treats yet but on my 3rd slice of bread!! This is the best gluten free bread I have ever had. So moist and tastes like something my grandma would make.
Snickerdoodle was delicious! However by the time I got there mid-afternoon they were out of many pastries
